We stayed here for about a week. Kenzie our housekeeper on the fourth floor was awesome. She was really customer oriented even in a pandemic (so were the others, we just interacted with Kenzie the most). She wasn't shy about making sure you had all you needed even if she couldn't come into the room. There is always a way good customer service can be carried out. I normally stay at Drury Inns but Hampton is my second favorite. However, no hot breakfast and paying those prices which are suppose to include that...is definitely not cool. We had to eat at I Hop down the street most mornings due to the same cold food being set out each day; prepackaged bagels, cold boilded eggs, yogurt, OJ and cold cereal. Drury is back to serving hot breakfast but in a safe fashion. All food is behind glass with employees wearing proper PPE to serve you in either to go containers or you can safely enjoy your meal in their dining area with enough spaces no ones too close to the other or eat in your room.
Besides the lack of hot breakfast, I noticed some towels I recieved that probably should be thrown out. The image you see are clean towels but the dark and lightness of each and apparent staining wasn't obvious until I placed them in my bathroom under a light. Other than that, our room was clean, no hair in bed as I read on other reviews.
I also visited the gym Dailey and noticed the same treadmill I used (without haven touched the HR sensors) had the same smeared hand prints on day three when I came in.
I also noticed 3 out of four female desk clerks had their butts perched up on the counter with their backs to the elevator. There was only one really tall African American young lady who was very pleasant (the others were too, despite the butt perch) that did not do that and looked up to greet me each time I stepped off the elevator. Along with another young lady of Mexican decent (I believe) who was just as attentive to her guests.
Thats all for me, I'd stay here again, I just think if we won't receive the amenities promised and advertized...it should show...
Read moreBest hotel in Midwest city. My room was spacious and clean. My shower was a walk in shower, my favorite kind. I had a comfortable king bed, and plenty of towels for myself. My only issue is not enough trash cans in the room.
Check in was not too long and I was greeted with great customer service by Jessica. Check in is at 3pm Check out is at 11am The pool and fitness rooms are on the first floor. This hotel has one elevator and long hallways, something to consider if you want a room that's not all the way down the hallway. Hotel is also pet friendly, which I did not use, deposit is $25 for a pet.
Using the app you are able to check yourself in, pick your own room, and you are able to checkout without having to go to the front desk. It made my stay more convenient as I was on the road pretty quick.
I've been to the nearby Holiday Inn and the Candlewood suites in the same area. Hampton inn is much more my style. The hallways are bright and not gloomy. The room had a great design and one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on in a long time. While everyone has thier own special thing that makes a hotel great, mine is the walk in shower, this hotel also has some of the best rates. Example: Candlewood suites ran a room for $155 for a 1 bedroom suite, while Hampton inn ran a 1 bedroom suite for $135 on the same day. I feel like I got a good deal and the rates at this hotel are on par with nearby hotels, something to consider when making a reservation.
As far as hotels go in the midwest city area, this one will now...
Read moreI would absolutely give it a zero if I could. We booked this trip through Priceline. We drove over 3 hours with our 3 kids under 7 for a sports tournament this weekend and were unable to fulfill our reservation or get a refund. Yolanda or whatever her name is at the front desk was actually abhorrent. She had an attitude as soon as I got up to the desk. I just brought in my card and ID because that's all I need at most hotels, she proceeded to tell me they couldn't take my cash card(fine understandable) when I went to get my actual bank card out, she started with even more of an attitude making it seem like I was lying or trying to scam. So I proceeded to ask how I'd get a refund and she said I'd have to call Priceline. So we leave and I get immediately on the phone with Priceline. They TRY to transfer to connect me to her to speak about a refund and she flat out refused to speak to me. She refused to do any real customer service to make HER problem correct. So we call Hampton inns line and she refuses again to speak to us and when we call Priceline back she actually hangs up on Priceline saying and I quote from mediator "I'm not about to keep repeating myself, I'm not speaking to her and I refuse to issue a refund" in my 30 years I have never had such horrible customer service for hotels and I'm in shock this is what they're training people to do.
*We stayed in the Hilton across the road last weekend and had ZERO issues with my card use. Either one. We will never be coming back to Hampton inn...
