Planet Fitness +Milledgeville — Attraction in Milledgeville

Signed my two boys up ( under 18) with my credit card. I love out of town ( for health reasons ) & told them the situation. II was under a "free trial" special,and was told to BE SURE to cancel membership if was not happy BEFORE JULY.Thay was it. So I called to cancel( MY CREDIT CARD IS PAYING,MIND YOU)- Was promptly told that you CANNOT cancel for anyone,even if under 18! My two children have not used it,and they refuse to cancel unless they both come down to the gym THEMSELVES.I live out of state. Transportation is an issue for my kids right now,so I am now stuck paying for a YEAR MEMBERSHIP that no one is going to use. If I try to "stop payment" it goes in MY CREDIT- BUT IM NOT EVEN USING IT- AND HAVE NO RIGHT TO CANCEL???! The real kicker,I could have "sent a letter" to request it,( NO,NOT AN EMAIL,A POSTAGE STAMPED LETTER)but I was only told this a day ago- it will NEVER get there in time.I am now stuck paying for two memberships that will never be used.I was NEVER EXPLAINED ANY OF THIS-NOT HOW TO CANCEL- ONLY TOLD WHEN TO CANCEL.The staff was so unfriendly and did not offer a tour or anything when we signed up. For the money- this gym is horrible. Planet fitness has a HORRIBLE reputation for refusing cancellations,still charging,and making it impossible to withdraw from theirr club- even under a "promotional period" DO YOUR HOMEWORK PEOPLE!! Firstly, let’s give the owner(s) a round of applause!! This location is one of the best places in Milledgeville. I know it’s a small city, but this PF screams diversity by the numbers. When I travel and desire to stay active, I always hit a nearby local PF. So following the course, I stopped in this PF for a quick workout and instantly became motivated to go the length this morning. I was greeted astonishingly at the door with such an excitedly warm welcome. Hell, I almost forgot my visiting purpose after standing at the front desk having some very amusing conversation with the soul of a lovely black woman that was staffed perfectly at the time of my visit. She was also the continued reason for my highly satisfying visit. Not to mention, the space is hugely user-friendly, with plenty of spotless new functional equipment. Again, shout out to the owner(s) and such beautiful, spirited staff. Joyfully, I used EVERY machine on the floor. 😂 I also used EVERY massage machine available. Hell, I even used the Tanning machine, and I am a Black man 😂 😂 Truthfully, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the gym cultural energy so much that I low-key did not want to leave. I was very pleased and satisfied when I walked in. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The equipment is new and updated. The very best part , well 2 parts about this place is price is one and the other is I love the app!! You can check in with it,keep up with your workouts and keep up with the latest workouts. There is alot you can do with the app. Awesome! 9-6-23 After a 2 year membership at planet fitness, I have been at other planet fitnesses while I have traveled the last 2 years , I'd say 4 to 6 different ones. They are all nice, and clean and I could tell some older than others but clean. The recent planet fitness was in ATLANTA, I won't disclose which one in ATL but anyhow it had only been opened 5 months, the treadmills were older than the one I'm a member at in Milledgeville (been there for over 2 years) the treadmills were ok but the ones in Milledgeville are 125% better.
