If today was my first time at a Longhorns, it would be my last. It will be my last for a while, I imagine.
Here is the laundry list that came to mind during tonight's experience:
This was the second visit in a row for us that after ripping the bread and wiping it in the butter and contemplating how to eat the salad that the silverware arrived.
In all fairness, I would have asked for silverware tonight after my soup and salad arrived together ...but I was thrown off because my wife's soup didn't show up at the same time. I figured that the runner was going back for hers and I could ask for the salad fork then. However, he never came back.
Neither did the waitress until she brought refills for our drinks we hadn't drank yet. I tried to catch her eye the two times she visited the next booth over but she didn't look our way.
Luckily, she did bring those drinks, though, so we could tell her about the missing soup amd silverware.
Both of those arrived approximately 1 minute and 45 seconds before the runners arrived with our main courses.
The NY Strip which is advertised on the menu as a thick cut was not. It was 2 1/2 inches wide, 8 inches long, and 3/8 of an inch thick. Waffle House sells the same one but it isn't $25.49 and I wouldn't write a review if the temperature was wrong there. There was a thin strip of pink center in places but mostly it was medium at best. It also had a strangely grainy mouth feel.
The baked potato, on the other hand, was undercooked. My wife said the potato in her soup was also underdone, strangely enough.
I did enjoy the soup, my salad, and the company of my dinner date.
However, to round out the visit, the to-go order which we advised our waitress of when we ordered the rest of the meal, took an extra 15 minutes to arrive at our table even though she said it was "about to come out" when we got ...and before we paid the check.
I was pleasantly surprised that she had remembered ... but, apparently, she had been under the impression that it was someone else's responsibility to deliver that and seemed genuinely surprised that we were still occupying the table so long after she had returned our bill.
Our son did report that the chicken bites were only a little extra crispy which would have been fine if you had included the dipping sauce with which the appetizer is usually...
Read moreFeb.9th visited this restaurant to place an order. Upon returning home immediately noted appetizer did not return with me. Called restaurant. Apologized and told my next visit would include this item. Preparing my plate for consumption and discovered sweet potato severely undercooked. As in one side slightly soft while remaining side seemingly not cooked at all. Husband’s sweet potato also under cooked. Returned to restaurant with potatoes in tow. Received two more potatoes and the appetizer. Returned home and discovered not two sweet potatoes but one sweet potato and one baked potato. I had ordered pork chops and actually sampled one before my return trip. Quiet tough but I decided I could make it work. Of course I reheated the chops about 15 seconds because I wanted a warm meal. Chops not fit for consumption. Called restaurant. I was sent a 75 dollar gift card by email. Now I appreciated that but mind you the initial dining experience was ruined so…. Next visit the following Thursday. Used gift card. Checked bag before departure. Only needed butter for the bread and lemon slices for salmon. Returned home. Prepared meal. Salmon severely undercooked as was rack of ribs. Milledgeville Longhorns food quality has slowly plummeted in recent months. We usually get takeout from this restaurant couple times per month. I’m not nor have ever been a fan of chain steakhouse food but my husband enjoyed this restaurant and I found it to be tasty enough and usually properly prepared. What is happening? If continues we will be adding this restaurant to the many others that are closing...

We all bout to starve at this point. We asked if we could at least be seated in same row as the other part of our party was adjacent to our booths, she said no and wouldn’t even accommodate the request. When I tell you this messed with my anxiety as a Veteran! The unprofessionalism and no attempt to provide our party with a pleasant experience is reprehensible.
