I expected a lot out of this place, the building was nice and there was live music, and many of my friends say that everything there is amazing. I was surprised that many of the vendors were closed on a Saturday afternoon. We went to my boyfriend's favorite Asian place (Pham's) and I attempted to order a lunch combo ($6.25) but was told that they only serve those on certain days and the cashier could not tell me what days it is applicable (the written menu said that the lunch combo was served everyday except for Sunday, their rule is fine but they should change the menu to reflect that). I ordered the sesame wings, they upcharged me for the sauce without telling me, it took about 10 minutes even though I was the only customer (a sign I should haven taken to mean that their food was not good), they gave me the piping hot wings in a thin plastic container that burned my hands if I held it by anything but the edges. My boyfriend got the fried chicken from Mama D's, the cashier kept interrupting while he was ordering to ask questions about the food that I got at Pham's, most of the menu was not available and when he tried ordering that, the cashier yelled and made us feel stupid. The food didn't take long, the chicken had absolutely no seasoning except lemon juice squeezed on top making the breading soggy. The coleslaw was decent but the mac and cheese felt like you were eating sour cream with a spoon (I took one bite and I had to spit it out) . My sesame wings were impossible to eat, they were drenched in bland sauce that just made them slimy and disgusting. Overall, I will never come back or recommend...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to pay a visit to the most eclectic foodie gem in the Twin Cities. I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere, smells, sights and sounds. There is a grand piano in the dining area for any artist to display their talents, as well as rows and aisles of wares ranging from every shape, texture and color. A gentleman sits and plays a light, smooth, jazzy tune while I enjoyed my meal. There are also fresh and packaged grocery items from various corners of the earth. Dining options seem endless in this large space. With different cultural offerings around every turn. I chose honey dew and banana Boba teas from Pham’s Rice Bowls. The flavor was so delicious!!! My mind went back to my days living in Asia, they tasted just like the banana milk or melon milk drinks from Korea with delicious, happy little boba bits in them. I also tried an excellent Indian chicken curry. It was the most flavorful, delicious and tender dish with fragrant rice that I’ve had in a long time. I also tried Pham’s pad Thai dish. I asked for extra spicy and wow! Not only did the slice really pack a punch, but so did the flavor. An exceedingly nice touch was the fresh Basil packet accompanying my meal, allowing me to add as much or as little as I wished. I look forward to visiting here again in the future and seeing more smiling faces, faces of those who unknowingly serve precious food items one simply cannot find anywhere else, and items that spring forth childhood memories with little bits of heaven. Thank you to all of the vendors here for giving our multicultural community a little...
Read moreI love it. So many food options, and the atmosphere is fabulous. Shops with very interesting international items. However... parking is an issue now. They have a large number of signs surrounding the building indicating validated parking for short periods of time. But they do NOT do that anymore. The signs are still up though, which is quite misleading. I was there on January 28th, and the information/security counter was very cold and adamant that parking will no longer be validated. There was another gentlemen that was quite upset about the false advertising so to speak, and the lady behind the counter was not too concerned. I understand that they may have quite a few questions over this issue, but the management should come up with a better plan. Take down the signs or something. Like another reviewer indicated, a lot of people will stop in quickly and grab food to go. And with no more parking validation, this is no longer attractive. As a matter of fact, it says that parking is validated as you enter the...
