Bound By Glory Tattoo — Attraction in Missoula

Rob did an ok job on my tattoo, but the price for a 30 min tattoo felt really exorbitant. I was surprised that I was paying the same for 30 min that my regular shop charges per hour, and they ain’t cheap. It was my first “walk in” tattoo, and maybe you pay for the convenience of that. If that’s the case please let me know, and I’ll edit my review. But it was disappointing to look up and see that it had only been a half hour, and he still stood by the quoted price. It makes me sad because the shop is cool, so was Rob. I enjoyed the experience and our conversation. But I felt like I shouldn’t have agreed to the quote and just paid an hourly rate like I have for my other 40 or so tattoos. Live and learn…

Skip forward a few hours, and I’ve removed the bandage and washed it off. The tattoo has a few flaws that on such a simple design really stand out. Thickness of the lines are inconsistent, objects that should be symmetrical are not, the dots on the letter i aren’t the same size. Live and learn indeed. I’ve emailed the artist and truly hope he fixes these issues, especially considering the premium I paid for this piece. He has told me to let it heal up and then we can take a look later. 😑Stay tuned. I will edit this again once the issues have been addressed.

10/26/25 Update

Dave, the owner of the shop, informed me that how his artists set price is 100% on them and he has no set standards for those matters. So the moral of the story is don’t assume anything. Ask lots of questions, and if you don’t feel 100% certain with your artist, walk away.

While no money was refunded, Dave the shop went over the tattoo painstakingly to fix problems add depth and shadowing and get it to where I wanted it to be rather than the way that it was. I’m happy with it now, still a very high price to pay, but at least the quality is now there. And I felt listened to validated and valued after speaking to him. Additionally, he had such a light hand that it looks like is going to heal perfectly. It’s hard to draw a circle, harder still on a squishy moving target. Dave did his best to round the imperfect circle, but it’s not perfect and you know, that’s ok. It’s not on a flat location so flat round would not be if held in different angles.

Thanks Dave. Seriously man, I’ll sing your praises from now on out!

I went in when they opened on Friday morning, picked out what I wanted, told the artist exactly what I wanted, she agreed and confirmed, asked me to put my name down and come back when she called. It was 3 hours later that I got a call to come back to the shop, she then shows me her sketch that was not what I had wanted, I asked her for a tweak and then she asked where I wanted the tattoo, (I had told her in the first place) she then proceeded to say I needed to schedule another appointment because “we have a full house today and I want to take more time with this.” I was quite upset because I explained what I had wanted already. I felt as if she didn’t want to do the tattoo at all, I’m a paying customer and “the full house” was too much? My tattoo would have been a simple outline, on the smaller side, I didn’t ask for an intricate arm sleeve or something. I had spoken to a few people about my experience and one person told me they had this particular scenario happen to them where they were told to come back and then was not able to get the tattoo. If you tell someone you can do something, and then three hours later tell them no, it’s a bit messed up. Especially after...

Took the decision to get my first ever tattoo, and was looking around for a shop and seen Bound By Glory Tattoo. I was interested in a walk in and called ahead of time to make sure & they said yes. I make my way over there and explain my situation, Showed a design I wanted in the price range I was looking for and said no problem. Ashleigh was the one who took me and was down to help. She was Very helpful and nice. She had no problem with the design and provided her professional advice which I really appreciated & Worked with me on price which was great. 10/10 experience, I will now go to her for my new addiction of tattoos.
