Recreation Park — Attraction in Monrovia

Recreation Park is a 22 acre land with well kept grass, trees and facilities. It is located on E. Lemon avenue in Monrovia. This park is family oriented and it has so much amenities to offer such as barbecues, picnic tables and shelter, drinking fountains, kids playground, restrooms, baseball field, tennis (4) courts, hardcourt (basketball, roller hockey, and skateboarding), and sand (2) volleyball court. In addition, this park offer a spectacular view of SG mountains. Plenty of parking within the park. Park goers were friendly and respectful. No homeless/sketchy people around the park which is good. A very peaceful park nestled in a neighborhood in Monrovia. There's a playground with swings and slides that is gated, plenty of large trees throughout this 22 acres park to provide shade for the picnic tables throughout the park with benches and barbecues. Great for family gatherings, birthday parties..several full court basketball courts, Volleyball courts, 4 tennis courts, large baseball field with a back stop, bleachers, score board, 2 gender restrooms, walking paths throughout the park to go for a brisk walk , there's also a Boys and Girls Club located on the park premises as well as a historic Museum which is open on Sundays and Thursdays from 1...

A calm serene place to hangout and relax. I have seen many monrovians getting together and bbqing. Kids come here often with their parents to play. There are some good activities at the boys and girls club but haven't look into the details, there was a time wherein I saw kids dancing to music in the evening.
