It was my son’s birthday party, I booked more than 2 weeks in advance. I was told the package of 39.99/kid (compared to regular admission at $15, same facility, no restriction) comes with a host who will be making sure the decoration is done the night before the party and make sure all setup needed including foods and drinks are arranged and ready to go. All I needed to do was to drop off my own decoration (if I choose to do so that’s most welcomed) ahead of time. I was also told that the host will lead the activities to run the party. I dropped of the decorations a week before the party. The front desk girl assured me that they are very familiar with the kit I provided, but I need to provide a helium tank for the balloons in the kit. I brought it the same day. The day before the party I stopped by to drop off some ready foods, as I was told there’s a large fridge and I can store there. The morning of the party i brought fruits trays. There was no decoration whatsoever, you wouldn’t know a party will start in a couple hours. I was told that since my party starts at 2pm, the decorations will only go up at 1:30pm. I inquired about my host and was told that my host will come in at 1:30pm to get the party ready. I was assured there is a team to get everything together fast. I had no choice but to believe. I went back at 1:50pm as I had a bit of a car issue. Shockingly discovered that nothing was set up besides the table clothes and plates. No food, no decoration, nothing. My guests are told to arrive at 2pm. No host to greet me. There was no one visible seem to be working to get our party ready. I shared my concern but was told that my party only starts at 2pm so there’s no reason that decoration needs to be ready now, says a young male front desk person who seems to be in the late teens. I inquired about my host. Another seemingly teen girl came out and I identify herself as my host. She was very calm, almost slow moving. Informing me that the balloons are being blown. She didn’t know anything about the foods I have dropped off or other items I brought labeled with my son’s name to set up the tables and to serve the food. Nor was she aware that she was going to lead any activities. She said her job is to decorate and that’s pretty much it. I went to the front desk to ask for the manager hoping to get more help to get the party ready now we are looking at 3 minute before 2pm. I was told that there was no manager on-site. I saw 5-6 personnel available but none came to help the so-called host. My sister and I took over the decoration with the host brought out the cart filled with everything I dropped off telling me to help myself. Emily, the manager, showed up at 2:20pm. Informed me their job is to get everything ready at 1:30pm so I shouldn’t expect more. I politely shared that when I arrived at 1:50pm, nothing was done. She asked what do I want. I asked to please bring out the food. My guests have arrived and all they get is to stare at empty tables with table clothes and plates. The workers brought out the fruits and appetizers fully packaged. The food wrap wasn’t removed, tapes stay intact, lids sealed tight. I was grateful that I brought a scissor. The host helped with cleaning and brought out cake. She also lit the candles. But that was it. It’s not a host really. More like a bus-person role. She did not lead any activity, not leading the happy birthday song, nothing of host type responsibility. Nothing like the hosts of other kids parties that we have been to. I don’t think it’s her interpretation of the host job. It is the poor training of the company, the manager, and the false advertisement to scheme to customers. I tipped her at the end, as despite her poor performance as a host, she’s the only one in the store who offered smiles and at least tried to help, regardless of how helpful it was. I am very very very disappointed at the Kids Empire. So many lies and oversights. I alert you to steer clear to avoid a...
Read moreDangerous and unsafe and no one cares. Don’t bother. I have a two year old and a 1 month old and this place was a nightmare. It took forever to sign the waivers but that was the least of the issues. As soon as you are let in from the counter there is literally no walkway. Tables are crammed together very close right near the gate extending all the way to the play areas. They are tripping hazards and not to mention a fire safety hazard. If people needed to get out there is literally nowhere to walk safely. The worst part is that there is no supervision or regulation for the diapers only area. I was hoping to bring my daughter to a place where she could play with other children around her age and have fun crawling through the tunnels and ball pits. But there were kids unrelated to each other that were 9 to 12 years old running through the tunnels very rough pushing and knocking babies over. My daughter was shoved aside by two different kids just trying to crawl through the course. Trying to get out was even worse. The tables were so tight that people kept kicking my stroller my other daughter was sleeping in. This was just absolutely the worst. I ended up asking for a refund which I was given but when the manager asked the reason and I explained , she seemed not to really care much. Almost like they get that complaint often. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a refund for the tokens and other stuff I bought on my way in but I hope the children I gave it to on the way out had fun. Anyway , a park is cleaner, safer and more fun. Save the money and head somewhere else. We...
Read moreLet me preface this review by saying the Montclair Mall location is the most clean out of all the Kids Empire locations.
With that being said the Monrovia location is the dirtiest I've encountered. DO NOT let your toddler in the ball pit. There's old broken smashed up balls that can potentially cut your child. Let's not talk about how dirty they are.
The men's/boy's restroom was disgusting and looks like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Paper and trash all over the ground and toilets. Urine all over the floor.
Lastly my biggest complaint of my visit on 08/23/2023 was the employees. The two females that attended my entrance fee were very rude. At no point were they interested in welcoming my family. Their only concern was talking and gossiping to each other. I paid cash almost to the T. My change was supposed to be $0.20, let me repeat 20 CENTS! The girl rudely told me she sent my receipt to email and I would have to come back later for my change. At the end of our session the same female attempted to give me 20 of the dirtiest pennies that she dug up from the back dumpster. I refused the pennies and asked if she had any other coins? She rudely said no! She then said their safe was locked and she couldn't get any change. My next question was how did she get 20 pennies if it was locked? She ignored my question and attempted to dismiss me. I then asked for the managers name which they became even more rude and intolerable. They said the manager was Emily. I have yet to receive any follow up.
I will not be back at...
