I had a lot of fun in the new ballpark. The last time I was there was 2006, my how things have changed! It definitely has a lot more activities for kids and families, there are different seat pricings as well as group outings & fun for the whole family. Now for the downside - 99.9% of the stadium is cashless! Even parking you need a credit or debit card (I find that a little uneasy but I'm sure they check all the devices for skimmers). This is very important, especially if you are going to the stadium for the first time you don't want to get stuck not being able to pick up your tickets cuz you don't have a credit or debit card. I'm thinking maybe this is because of what happened in the last 2 years, but I was fortunate enough to have a credit card with me - that would have been really embarrassing to be standing there with no ticket & no way to buy food or a drink! It is a tad pricey for food and such, but you can't blame them as the cost of everything is skyrocketing. I would advise bringing a snack or two to eat in the car before you go in. For women plastic see-through purses only, they will not let you win unless you have a see-through purse & it has to be small. I would suggest arriving early, traffic on a Friday night with the movie theater and shopping area nearby can be difficult at times. You will have a great time, it's fun to watch players who's next step is into the Major leagues! I think they still allow people to get autographs from players, but I would definitely look into that because of different protocols. If you have any doubts about anything feel free to call the stadium and they would be more than happy to answer any questions or...
Read moreLove the ballpark! Had a terrible experience with the food! This ballpark is the cleanest, best family oriented ballpark around. We have been here multiple times and always enjoyed ourselves, but I have to say, we don't usually eat. We watch the game and grab a beer and that's about it. Well, I took my little sister a couple weeks ago so of course, she wanted ballpark food. I bought her a container of Chickie & Petes Fries. She picked at them and when I asked her what was wrong she said just screwed up her face and said they didn't taste good. So I tried a couple. Honestly, they tasted like they were deep fried hours before and had been sitting drying under a heat lamp for hours. They were hard, crusty and pretty much inedible. That was the 1st time I honestly ever tossed a french fry! I mean, really, who doesn't like fries? So I got her an order of regular fries, hoping they would be better. No lie, exact same thing. It WAS a slow night, had they all overcooked the food thinking the crowd would be much bigger? That was the 2nd order of fries I tossed my entire life! So after realizing everything was pretty much just sitting on racks behind the counters, she asked for some cotton candy. I relented feeling bad that I would have to stop on the way home from the game to feed her. She took two bites and told me the center was rock hard. Are you kidding me?? I tossed $30 of food that night. Lesson for the day: tail gate before the game! Update! We're back and everything was great! Chicken and Pete's was perfect and the BBQ sandwiches were Excellent! Hmm...must've hit a bad...
Read moreTook my Grandson to a game, he is quiet and shy, he wanted so much to get a ball from his favorite player Ryan Lemarre and every time someone else ended up getting it. He still sat down and happily cheered on his player. I felt for him because it seemed like the same kids would run down from the top to get yet another ball. Still everytime my grandson would get up put him glove out to catch a ball , and then turn around and sit down waiting for the next. Near the end of the game Ryan noticed my grandson and heard him cheering him on . The a foul ball was hit , Ryan (#21) ran from the outfield to the infield to get that foul ball and ran back and handed it to Johnny personally. That made Johnny's day. That changed his world. He carries that ball around with him and this year has decided to come out of him she'll and he is signing up for ⚾️ baseball. Every chance we get , when we can afford them we go to a game . Johnny even watched Ryan when he played for the Yankees. Every little boy needs a hero. Ryan LeMarre is Johnny's hero. Thank you Ryan Lemarre, you really made a difference to a little boy that day. 💙 This story does not even touch on the big picture. Johnny said one day he will take his little brother who is 5 to the greatest place in the world Railriders baseball field and maybe he too can find a...
