Went here with my husband today and there was almost no one in the place. The four hostesses took a while trying to figure out which of the hundred empty tables we could sit at. But then they sat us in an empty section. Our waitress came and took our drink orders. We told her we need a minute to figure out our appetizers and food and she literally waited and loomed over our table until we ordered appetizers. We got nachos which they used to serve warm with real cheese but now are processed cold nachos. We ordered BBQ chicken and you used to get half a chicken like the menu says but now you just get one chicken wing even though the menu says you get a half chicken. We both ordered lean brisket but his was lean and mine was very fatty.
We were obviously there on date night but once we got sat down, the hostess brought two families with young kids to sit immediately behind us kicking on the seat and another young child across from us in a completely empty restaurant. This is just terrible decisions by the four, yes they have four hostesses.
The worst part was at the end of the meal, our waitress swiped our credit card on the device in her hand but then loomed over and glared down at us while we chose how much of a tip we would give her. She was so weird and obnoxious…honestly the whole meal felt like we were being held hostage while at the same time being rushed to get out the door so they can once again have more empty tables in their dying restaurant.
Before leaving we both went to the restroom to discover one urinal is covered in plastic wrap because they don’t have the money to fix it. One of the soap dispensers doesn’t work because soap is crazy expensive to buy for a restaurant where employees have to wash their hands before making your food. And they have an industrial fan in the bathroom to keep the smell inside the restroom rather than wafting out to the dining room. And to be fair, I understand why they need it. Their food makes your body want to get it out of your system as soon as possible so I imagine a lot of people have diarrhea there, but even if that smell went out to the dining room, it wouldn’t make much of a difference from how the food tasted.
But that’s the likely the best part about this place…it will soon be closed. Moosic will be so much better off without a place that serves mediocre food on chipped plates and overcharged customers while being too cheap to buy soap for their employees or customers. I cannot wait to see it on the news that a new place will take over and actually make this location worth while going to again. Perhaps they won’t be cheap on ingredients, plates, staff, or soap.
Please seriously consider NOT GOING to this place. It’s dying and when it does, it will be the dishonorable death...
Read moreI was so excited to try this new restaurant on Saturday night with my family. We went to the hostess desk and requested a booth for 4. The host told me it could take 10-30 minutes because he didn’t know how long it would take people to eat. We ended up getting seated relatively quickly and were very pleased about that. The seating area where you can wait is behind the hostess stand and we happened to find it in our own but it didn’t seem like they were advising people they could wait there. Once we got our booth we sat...and sat while we watched people come in after us and get waited on. I flagged down a waitress and asked who had our table. She didn’t know but said she would find out and offered to take our drink order. She was very kind and very quick. She came over to let us know our assigned waitress would be right over. Our waitress then came over and said she had no idea we were her table. She brought all drinks but one which I had to ask for again (she forgot to bring it). I ordered fried green tomatoes and the sauce was very good but the tomatoes were a bit burnt and over fried. My husband ordered the ribs and said they had really good flavor but were pink and soft at the ends. They also seemed to be pretty fatty. I ordered the shredded chicken wrap and found skin, gristle, and...a pretty decent size bone. I showed the waitress and she laughed and thanked me for not pretending to choke on it. I also showed the manager when he came by and he asked if I bit into it which I did. And that was it. My husband and I were both surprised they didn’t do or offer anything further. When the waitress brought my husband another soda she came to the table slid it down in the middle and immediately jetted away. I was upset about this because they did not give my son a spoon for his applesauce and i had planned on asking her for one. I had to walk over to a server station and get one myself. My son seemed to enjoy his cheeseburger and my other loved his applesauce. Overall we felt it was way overpriced for both the quality of food as well as the service we received. Disappointed and hoping it gets better with...

I recently visited Food & Fire BBQ-Taphouse at The Shoppes at Montage Mountain, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by Kayla and Xavier, who made me feel right at home immediately. Their hospitality was just the beginning of what turned out to be a great visit.
The two bartenders, Devin and Conner, provided exceptional customer service. Not only were they attentive, but they also made great conversation and offered the perfect recommendation…their wings were absolutely amazing! I appreciated their warmth and genuine care, which really stood out.
It was my first time in a bar setting by myself, but the vibe here was perfect. I felt completely comfortable enjoying a cold beer and delicious wings on a college football Saturday. The atmosphere was just right…laid back and friendly, with great energy. I’m already planning to swing by again for Sunday game time!
And I can’t forget to mention the celery served with buffalo and ranch..it was a fantastic side that complemented everything perfectly.
Thank you so much to the team at Food & Fire for an unforgettable experience! I’m looking forward to coming back soon.
TWO weeeks later… Food and Fire continues to maintain its fantastic atmosphere, with customer service that truly stands out. Every visit is a pleasure, and it’s always a great opportunity to connect with incredible people. A special thanks to Becca, Becky, and Marissa for their engaging and upbeat interactions. It’s also great to see Connor and Devin, who always contribute to a great conversation. And a big thank you for introducing me to the New Trail Broken Heels Hazy IPA—a delightful discovery! Thank you all for making this place feel like a home...
