Morristown's claim to fame is bearing witness to that brutal winter that then-general (and future President) George Washington and his troops endured while fighting the British during the Revolutionary War. This historical park comprises the various sites that they occupied during those cold and miserable months and is, interestingly, the first ever designated historical park in the country. Great details of 1776 to 1783 revolutionary war era. Videos and displays were informative. Excellent tour of private residence used by General Washington for 6 months during the harshest winter on record. Requires climbing narrow stairs...
