Didn't close at 7 on labor day like it said. Closed early at 6. Walked right in at 6 to get a deal and they told me they were closed. Not the first time this has happened. Just cost me a tree stand and 40 bucks. Girls were not helpful at all behind the desk. Didn't have the doors locked or anything so I walked right in and they saw I was carrying something to wheel the big tree stand box back with. I walked there with it and I was planning on walking the thing all the way back to my place. Just lost a good customer who spends thousands annually in ur store. Even says right here on the Dunham's website and on Google that the mt pleasant location closed at 7 for labor day. The girl I talked to on the phone right after I left was completely unhelpful and disregarded what I said completely. Someone decided to close the store early because they weren't busy I imagine. Edit: different manager made it right. Said the other manager accidentally printed off the wrong labor day work hours. Got the labor day deal and I'm super excited to try out my new stand this season. Just went in the other day because they said they had a certain style of boot I wanted in stock in my size. I get there and they only have 2 pairs out a 9.5 display model and a 13. Had to walk up to the front to asked for help in the shoe department. Waited on the employee to walk back and help me. I asked her if she could check if they had anymore in stock and she looked at me like I was stupid. Wouldn't even bother checking even after she asked if I got it from a front table . Didn't even look and see what style of boot it even was. She had absolutely no idea if they had anymore or not and she was too lazy to walk 15 feet back and check. Sucks this is the only place to sometimes get decent hunting stuff in Mt pleasant. I really wish this store was better because then I would walk over and spend money all the time. It's just the complete lack of respect and level of work the young employees are willing to put in. It's like this every single year because it's always a group of new college kids who think they're to good for working at Dunham's. That or they're just completely lazy...
Read moreFirst off I hardly ever take the time to write a negative review but this situation irked me enough that four hours later I am still mad. Tonight we visited the Mt. Pleasant, MI store and I happened to check out the gun safes. I happened to see a Sports Afield 30+4 gun safe advertised as an early bird special beginning today and ending December 5th. I thought to myself “sweet! $299.00 is a good deal” and I grabbed the last early bird ticket and the rest were $399.00 after that. We make our way to the counter and the staff were puzzled that I even had this ticket as they were sold out two days ago on this safe. While wondering how that worked since the sale wasn’t effective until today, another cashier pipes up and said we could special order it and it’ll be here after Christmas. I was kind of bummed about that but still alright because I really did have a need for a second safe to keep my guns locked up as my daughter gets older.
So as they go through to start doing the special order one of the cashiers noticed that it kept coming up zero. They asked another and they said that it is because it’s unavailable. When my wife and I asked what that means they said they are unable to order it. When we asked if they could check other stores if they had one they simply said no we can’t, sorry we can’t do anything for you. We brought up other safes and they seemed very uninterested in pitching other ones and less than helpful. I would have bought just about any one of them that I could have had right then and there. Now I get that Black Friday shopping can be stressful for workers, but the store was honestly no busier than normal. As my wife and I walked away we didn’t even get a “have a good night” or “sorry hope you find one”. Needless to say Dunham’s you have lost my business. This review could have turned out just the opposite and I would have left an ecstatic customer had one of your employees simply picked up the phone to another store or helped make me a deal on another one due to your...
Read moreThis place is a nightmare. Practically ran by clueless children. Check kayaks before buying. I just took mine out for it’s first time and it has a hole in the bottom. I took it out on Saginaw Bay. After 30 minutes realized it was sitting way lower in the water than it ever should be. Thank god I was only 5 minutes from shore. There’s no wayyyyy I put it in there. I should’ve walked away the day I bought it when I had to stand around all day for someone to help me, but I was in too much of hurry to get out of there and I’ve been all over looking for a kayak. Never going to ignore a bad sign again. Of course you can’t bring kayaks back “how coincidentally” so make sure the hull is sound before you leave the store. Also manufacturer with the “limited lifetime warranty” made in USA is a straight up joke. Won’t do nothing about their paper thin molding. My wife has the exact same one bought from a different Dunhams and the bottom where mine is super flimsy you can crush with your fingers hers is built like a brick house. The part with the fins on the bottom of each side. So I know it’s defective. It’s just bs that I have to eat the cost. BTW your also getting...
