Nantucket Bookworks — Attraction in Nantucket

This has to be one of my top ten favorite bookstores, here is why:

The location is where the action is downtown. It’s easily accessible and in a beautiful location surrounded by shops and restaurants. So, get a book and get some coffee down the block.

The atmosphere and decor/design is thoughtful and enjoyable to spend time in. The space is clean and well put together. It’s one of those spaces that draws you in and makes you want to stay.

Great selection of products! Books and other items including a large chocolate selection located in the back of the store.

One of the most amazing kid sections I’ve seen in a bookstore. The space was designed for and is inviting for children. Huge win for parents coming to visit that want to look for a book for everyone.

This store has such beautiful children’s books and really charming toys. Unfortunately, though, both times we went in there, the owner and employees were SO rude that we will never go back. They made it very clear that we were not welcome there. For instance, my daughter fell in love with a doll, and we were about to buy it... until the owner asked me to stop examining it and told me the price as if to deter me. I was fully aware of the price - what deterred me was the rudeness. They also wouldn’t let our one-year-old in without a mask (CDC does NOT recommend masks for babies!). However, our White friends has a really lovely experience, so maybe they just prefer a certain demographic. In any case, check out the inventory, but definitely don’t go for the customer service!

This was our first time in Nantucket Bookworks. What an amazing, cozy bookstore in Nantucket with great book finds! They didn’t have the book I was looking for but it didn’t stop me from getting another. My daughter was able to find a few arts + crafts accessories so they do have a nice products assortment.
