DO NOT BOOK HERE.
We had to cancel our stay after a friend in our group suffered a serious fall that required emergency surgery made more complicated by a newly classified high-risk pregnancy.
We reached out to the hotel multiple times — Wednesday (the day of the fall), Thursday, and twice on Friday — explaining the situation and offering medical documentation. Each time, the front desk staff was kind and seemed understanding, but told us only the manager, Alicia, could make a decision about issuing a credit. Despite repeated attempts, the manager never returned our calls or spoke to us directly.
On the morning of check-in, we were told by a different staff member that the only option was to rebook within the same month — even after we offered to provide medical documentation confirming that travel was not possible during that timeframe. We were not asking for a refund, only for a credit to use at a later date once our friend had recovered.
Later, we found out that the management called our friend *who was in the hospital to confirm the story and STILL did not offer flexibility (and did not tell us that they spoke to her.)
We recognize that as a small business, margins can be small and cancellation policies are in place for a reason. That said, we were met with no flexibility or empathy.
The way this was handled by management during a medically urgent situation was so unprofessional and ethically inexcusable.
We’ll return to Nantucket in the future — but never to this hotel. Life happens, and we want future guests to be aware that this hotel showed no flexibility or compassion when faced with an unavoidable...
Read moreI really wanted to love the Nantucket Resort Collection, however, I can’t help feel like it was a bit of a disappointment.
To clarify, we stayed for two nights at the Regatta Inn, one of the three properties of the collection.
Our room was nice - small, but clean. The bathroom was nice as well; shower was great. The common areas were fine.
The breakfast left a bit to be desired: coffee, a few small offerings of yogurt and oats, along with tollhouse ready-bake pastries. A good snack - but you’ll need to take a morning walk for a real breakfast. We did venture over to the Veranda and found the same breakfast spread.
The real issue with the Nantucket Collection is the severe lack of advertised amenities. The site promotes beach towels, chairs, and shuttle rides to neighboring beaches. The shuttle is a glorified golf-cart and, when we asked for a lift to Jetties Beach, we were told there were no staff available to operate it. Drop-off service only, by the way.
The beach chairs were a mish-mash of hand-me-downs that appeared to be left from other patrons. There were maybe 8 in total and, on the second day, they were all taken before we departed at 10 AM. The beach towels were also scarcely available. We had to walk next door since the Regatta “ran out” of beach towels. We ended up settling for a few bath towels.
All-in-all the facilities are ok for the money, but the amenities, or lack thereof, had me wishing I shelled out the extra cash for The Nantucket or...
Read moreOver the last 13 years of living on Martha’s Vineyard, I’ve probably been to Nantucket a little over a dozen times, and every time it keeps getting better. This summer, I had the pleasure of staying at the Regatta Inn, part of the Nantucket Resort Collection.
Here’s why I loved staying at the Regatta Inn:
🛳️ Complimentary golf cart pick up at the ferry, which was so nice because it was raining when I arrived and between my laptop and camera, I was already struggling;
🛌 Ultra-plush beds with the softest sheets and comforters, I slept so peacefully;
💨 An air-conditioning unit that I could control easily;
💻 Complimentary WiFi that actually was easy to log onto and was incredibly fast, because I had a bit of work to get done while there;
🚿 Malin+Goetz toiletries that felt like such a luxurious treat with sumptuous scents warm rum and fresh cilantro;
⛱️ Beach amenities are worth mentioning even thought I didn’t use them: beach chairs, towels, totes - all at your disposal;
✨ Random amenities I also loved: a hairdryer that actually worked well on my curly hair; plugs on both sides of the bed; fresh flowers on the table; glass water bottles instead of plastic; endless snacks from morning to night in the common area, and overall the most helpful staff ever!
But the best amenity of the inn was their Director of Operations, Alicia ✨ she truly made my stay so welcoming, and I recommend this spot to everyone when they mention they are looking to head over...
