A Perfect Stay at the Brass Lantern Inn From the moment we arrived at the Brass Lantern Inn, we knew we had found something truly special. The location is absolutely perfect—nestled in a scenic, peaceful setting that feels like a true getaway, yet conveniently close to everything you’d want to explore in the area. The Inn itself is warm, charming, and incredibly comfortable. Every room feels thoughtfully prepared, with beautiful touches and attention to detail that create a true sense of home. It’s clear that a lot of love and care has gone into every corner of this place. Breakfast each morning was a highlight—delicious, beautifully presented, and made with quality ingredients. It’s the kind of meal that sets the tone for a perfect day, whether you’re off on an adventure or just enjoying the tranquility of the Inn. A special mention must go to Sharon and her wonderful team. Their hospitality is top-notch—friendly, genuine, and always attentive without ever being intrusive. You can really feel the passion they have for making every guest’s stay memorable. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with outstanding service, exceptional comfort, and that rare feeling of being truly welcomed, the Brass Lantern Inn is it. We can’t wait to return.

Our stay at the Brass Lantern for our girls trip was amazing! The Innkeeper, Sharon, was always a text or call away. Breakfast was delicious and so much more than what we expected from a “continental breakfast”. There was coffee, tea and water available all day and fresh baked cookies left out at 5pm every day. Anything we needed they had! The room was so cute and quaint. The bed was so comfortable and we loved that the showers had shampoo/conditioner and body wash. The location was PERFECT! We walked almost everywhere. A short walk to Brant Point, Jetties, coffee shops, Main St and Straight Wharf and the ferries. The bus stops for Jetties and Madaket are roughly a block away at the Whaling Museum. Overall, this was a perfect place for us! We told everyone who asked where we were staying all about it! We’d love to come back for our next trip and stay here again!

We had an excellent experience during our recent stay at the Brass Lantern. The Inn is very well run, clean and decorated perfectly. Our room was very comfortable (Hydrangea) and very private. We were able to come and go as we pleased and had access to the kitchen area which had a full-sized fridge for any perishables we had. Sharon and her staff were excellent and very welcoming from the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff. The back patio area was cozy and a great place to unwind. The Inn itself is a charming blend of historic elegance and modern comfort (heat pump installed in our room which made for perfect sleeping temperature). The sense of community and warmth at the Brass Lantern Inn is truly unique and made our stay even more memorable. Highly recommend!

I would recommend the Brass Lantern to anyone vacationing in Nantucket! The location couldn't be better: a very short walk from the ferry and an even shorter walk to the center of downtown. The Whaling Museum, tons of restaurants and shops are all just around the corner.

The common areas are beautiful and clean, with hot tea and accoutrements available all day and freshly baked cookies at 5PM daily. Our room was spacious and updated, with a large shower and King bed (we stayed in the Campanula room).

The staff is warm and accommodating. Breakfast is ordered via their website the night before, where you make your selections for the following morning and pick a time slot to pick up your premade breakfast tray. Breakfast is a continental style of pastries, yogurt, fruit, etc. although one day we ordered spinach and feta croissants which were hot and delicious! Most things are completely homemade including the muffins and granola which is a very nice touch. Pots of coffee are available in the morning but the communal Keurig with a variety of pods is also available all day. Although we stayed in April when it was chilly, I noticed there were plenty of beach towels for use for those vacationing in the warmer months.

We loved our stay and would recommend Brass Lantern to anyone! Thanks, Sharon,...

We just had a fantastic 3 nightstay at the Brass Lantern. My husband, myself, and our 2 labs loved everything about this place. We have stayed at many resorts, B&B’s, and Cottages on the island but I think this is our new favorite. They honestly thought of everything. We LOVED the location (so close to town), the outdoor space for eating our delicious breakfasts or relaxing in the afternoon, the tea and coffee available all day, the use of the refrigerator/freezer and ice, ice buckets, wine glasses, coolers, ice packs available, the beach chairs and beach towels, the comfy bed with nice linens, the soft bath towels, the high quality soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner. And for the dogs, the bowls, dog towels, special coverlet on the bed, and mostly the “dog area” for them to be off leash and do their business. Sharon the Innkeeper and her staff were all so helpful and wonderful. |I’m sure I’m forgetting something, but we really loved the Brass Lantern and will definitely be back when we return...
