I walked in expecting the place was going to be expensive because it’s Napa, but just to look around. The staff greeted me as I walked in so the first impression was great. I searched around and found a mini colorful lamp. I look around the lamp admiring the beautiful colors and looked at the bottom to see the price tag, it said 10 dollars. Great, honestly to good to be true but I remembered that price. I told this one woman worker if she could told it for me becuase this place was huge. I walked around for a while and everything was pricy or not priced at all. When we went back to pay for the lamp they said it was 38 plus tax. Like excuse me? Wasn’t it just ten, and she said no it’s 38 look at the top of the lamp. And all of a sudden there was a tag on it for 38 dollars . I mean does she do witchcraft or did this girl just put a sticker on it while she was holding it for us. And I gave her the biggest side eye and she still has the audacity to ask me if I still wanted it. And she told me that the 10 dollar price tag was how much she payed for it. From buying it for 10 then pricing it at 40 with the tax is crazy work. I felt hurt that she would take advantage of a young person and try and scam me. I feel stereotyped as a Mexican American woman and especially with the protest and judged for being young. The things there are beautiful but make sure you take a picture of the price tag that you originally saw or just keep it with...
Read morePopped in the other day on my trip and had in mind I was looking for a vase... I struggled to find anything I wanted to take with me from Napa which is strange since a shop like this, I'd usually leave with around 5 items. I didn't feel a lot of the curated items were very versatile... this shop is just okay. Anyways, a few times I walked by the counter and within view of the two ladies working and each time they were staring in the opposite direction. Never received a "Hello" "Welcome" or acknowledgment so the vibes were a bit unwelcoming. Went to the next door shop after to look for a vase and not only did I find many to choose from but also a very warm welcome from the shopkeeper. Usually, it does make or break a sale for me as to whether I will buy something if the shopkeeper is welcoming or not. Supporting small and welcoming businesses is important. I did give it 3 stars because other reviews mention being acknowledged and finding items. I just didn't have the...
Read moreYesterday was my first time visiting antiques On Second. On top of everything being jumbled together and unorganized I found a perfect gift for a friend that was $248. I asked for it to be put on hold for me until Wednesday, which was great. I continued to shop and look around. I noticed there were not any plus size or extended sizing options, so I asked a worker and was told the owner cuts the size tags off of the clothing. She also told me it was past 5pm and I would need to leave. I had about $1000 to spend in there yesterday and that was bad business on their part. I will never return. I haven’t been treated so appealing like this in a while. Being kicked out while trying to buy from your store is the worst business sense I have ever seen. I run a large store here in Napa and I will absolutely pass on my horrible experience. Please go anywhere else. You will find better quality that is not...
