I've had several unbelievably poor experiences at this store. The customer service is a joke. The first time I went in with my fiancé, I was looking for a suit for our wedding. We walked in and not a single employee, out of the four working there, acknowledged us. After browsing at jackets in the "suit separates" section and finding one I liked, my fiancé tracked down an employee to ask if there were matching pants. The employee she asked seemed annoyed at the question and hurriedly cut her off mid-sentence with an abrupt "no," offering no further explanation and walked away.
I took it upon myself to see if the pants were on their website. Luckily they were, so I bought the jacket in store, and ordered the pants online.
Yesterday, I went back in to find a shirt to pair with my suit. Again, I was completely ignored by the employees. I picked out three shirts and asked for a dressing room to try them on. A different gentlemen working there gave me a look like he couldn't believe I wanted to try on shirts. He asked if it was because I didn't know my size. I said "No, I know my size but I'd like to see how these look and fit on me to decide which one I want." He scoffed and tried to find the same shirts I had picked out off of a rack in the back and seemed annoyed when he couldn't find any in my size, even though I had three of them in my hand ready to try on.
In the middle of this interaction, another customer came in to pick up his suit, and the employee helping me moved on to accommodate him leaving me hanging with no help. I stood there waiting for him to appease my very basic request and continued to be ignored. It was as if I became an obstacle for him to maneuver around while he helped the other customer.
I stood there with three shirts in hand, ready to purchase one after having an opportunity to try them on, but was met with hostility, impatience, and disrespect . I could sense the other customer becoming increasingly perturbed with the incompetence of the employees as well and after several more minutes of being forgotten about, I dropped the shirts on the counter and walked out.
I've never been happier to take my business elsewhere. I would recommend avoiding this location at all costs and for the employees here to undergo some basic training in...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of shopping at JoS. A. Banks, and it was undoubtedly the worst shopping experience I have ever had. From start to finish, it was a nightmare filled with frustration, incompetence, and disrespect.
First and foremost, the lack of employees on the floor was glaringly evident. Every staff member seemed overwhelmed and visibly frustrated, juggling multiple customer requests with apparent inefficiency and a complete lack of helpfulness. It was like watching a chaotic circus, but without the entertainment value.
The individual assigned to assist me was either new to the job or woefully unsuitable for it. She struggled to locate the wedding account, which should have been a routine task. But the real nightmare began when she couldn't find the items on my list. Despite my specific size requirements (40x30 or occasionally 42x30), she insisted that they didn't have the 42x30 pants in-store and flat out refused to order them, a claim that seemed preposterous for a chain with a nationwide presence. Instead, she laughably suggested I purchase a larger size 44x30 and get it tailored down, as if that were a reasonable solution.
After wasting an exorbitant amount of time, she finally managed to locate a jacket which was on the main floor. It was a comedy of errors, as she initially selected a white shirt for me, only to retract it, claiming it would be too expensive for me. And to add insult to injury, she even forgot the tie, a crucial component of the ensemble which I found myself.
By the time I left the store, I was not only stressed and humiliated but also significantly lighter in the wallet. What should have been a simple and pleasant shopping experience turned into a two-hour ordeal of frustration and disappointment. To top it all off, I ended up spending far more than I had anticipated, a testament to their knack for upselling and my own desperation to escape the madness.
In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend this JoS. A. Banks location to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and seek out a store where customer service is more than just...
Read moreI called this store asking for suspenders for my father's birthday. He is a very fashionable dresser and usually only wears Brooks Brothers, so I knew I was taking a risk getting anything for him at Jos. A Bank. The lady was very nice on the phone, but they did not have the two pairs of suspenders I needed on stock. She said it would be just as easy to order and have them shipped to my home as it would be to have them shipped to the store for pick up, so I had them shipped to my home.
I was thrilled that they arrived just in time, one day before the birthday, but immediately became upset when I opened the package. The boxes the suspenders arrived in were covered in scuff marks and so smashed that they barely closed. I considered that this could be part of the shipping process, but one of the boxes had an elastic band around it (clearly this was in place before shipping).
Since my first call to this store had been very helpful, I called again to inquire if there was any way that the store could help to remedy my problem. After all, they had been the ones to suggest that I order the suspenders in the first place. I spoke to a young man who told me that there were no extra boxes in the store. I think he could tell that I am of a younger generation, and he told me that it is not uncommon for items from the clearance rack to be a bit banged up as they have usually been returned before. I understand that I am younger than most of the cliental at Jos. A. Bank, but my age is no indication of my income or the tier of stores I frequent. I did not appreciate the lack of concern for my problem, or the way I was dismissed. I can guarantee that I will not be shopping at Jos. A. Bank ever again and I will try my best to find an alternative to the suspenders I have already purchased so that I can...
