I visit this library at least once a week! Being able to place holds from any branch of the NPL and pick up here is an amazing perk. Honestly, my average time spent in the building is probably 2 minutes if I’m not browsing. I run in, grab my stuff from the holds shelf (which is immediately to the right), self check out, and I’m out of there. Thankfully there is always staff to help if I run into any unexpected issues (which I think has only happened once when I didn’t understand Lucky Day rentals—which are awesome!) or if I misplaced my card.
They have many services like computers and printers, and so many things other than just books. I have rented books, digital and CD audiobooks, talking books, playaways, and they of course have music and DVDs too. I have utilized the free seed exchange, and now they have a “library of things” where you can borrow everything from a sewing machine, musical instruments, and athletic gear, to different tools and devices for your home. Super awesome resource.
The library has many seating options inside, and the outside is great too. Parking has never been an issue for me. There is a very small park attached with a quick little sidewalk loop, that also attaches to the larger sidewalk that will take you into the heart of Green Hills. Often after running in to grab my holds, I take my dog (who waited patiently in the car for the 1 minute I was inside) for a lap around the sidewalk—it’s about all the old man is up for :) there are also benches there if you want to sit and read.
My only complaint is the hours. While the library is open decently late, I do wish they opened a bit earlier. Some days I would love to be able to pop in on my way to work or before heading out for the day. Can’t have everything you want, I guess! But that would be my only suggestion. Also note that immediately after school hours, many kids from Hillsboro High use this as a place to convene until their parent is able to pick them up. That does make the afternoon hours a bit more...
Read moreWhat a wonderful library!! My family has always been satisfied with our visits here.. The main branch downtown is a great library too, but the Green Hills branch is closer to our house so we started coming here regularly.. Their book selection is vast and fantastic, from adult fiction and non-fiction, to their lovely children’s section, there’s truly something for everyone.. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful in our experience.. Even the art displayed here is inspiring and fun to look at.. 2 thumbs up for the Green Hills branch of Nashville’s...
Read moreThis is a great library, but the website, Google Maps, and the sign on the front door all say they are open until 6pm on Fridays. I arrived at 5:40 on a Friday and they were completely closed. Please update your website and Google maps to reflect the correct closing time. It's frustrating to plan your day in a way according to posted hours of operation and find out you had wrong info and missed your chance to go (after driving all the...
