💥Not satisfied and maintenance man used the restroom sink in the room to wash off a dirty poop plunger!! Yes the sink that we all use to brush and wash our teeth daily!
This was my first time staying at New York-New York. Everything was just fine until the first room had a clog in the bathtub, sink, then the toilet. I understand things happen so called and let them know what was going on. Got a room change after asking…. No problem whatsoever. Today the toilet clogged after my child used it. No huge amounts of toilet paper was used, no wipes, no toys were flushed it was just a clog. Called a little after 9 this morning for a plunger, went around 30 mins after calling. I understand it’s his job to unclog toilets but we don’t feel ok with anyone having to mess with poop. He told the maintenance man he would unclog it and leave it sitting outside the room in a trash bag when he was done with the plunger. It was not unclogging so called again and another maintenance man had came up. He said that was the wrong plunger we were given to use, he used a black plunger and he was able to unclog the toilet. Well after doing that he used the same exact plunger he used to unclog the toilet with that had POOP and rinsed it in the SINK! Toothbrushes etc were on the sink and he had plunger poop juice around these items and dripping everywhere!
Long story short after speaking to front desk employees and the manager we were given until 2 pm to check out since we couldn’t use the bathroom and shower etc…..went to check out and I spoke with Gregoria the manager and she honestly didn’t seem to bother except when I told her WE as Guests had to get a hold of the cleaning lady ourselves and ask for the restroom to be wiped down.
The cleaning lady was even disgusted and I don’t blame her (by the way she was excellent and I appreciated her very much).
After back and forth with the complaints Gregoria gave us check out at 2, we also asked if we could just shower in another room but she stated the hotel was booked. How was there not ways to make the situation better? She could have at least asked for a wipe down something but not we had to.
She took off the parking fee of $18 a night for 2 nights. I even told her our toothbrushes were ruined and she didn’t seem concerned. She couldn’t do anything more since I paid with points.
Leaving unsatisfied and disgusted Gregoria how would you feel if you were a customer in my shoes. Dirty poop plunger rushed off in a sink everyone uses and our personal belongings are around that area. Would you feel ok to use your toothbrush or any other items? No you wouldn’t that’s unsanitary and you would be disgusted as a customer no matter if the room was paid for with card or points. No one deserves this it’s disgusting. I as a cancer survivor needs to be extremely cautious about germs, illness, and anything that would put me at risk of unsanitary conditions. So I took this very serious you didn’t even offer to possibly replace our toothbrushes we had to throw and any other non usable items. I feel you could have done a lot more than just waive 2 $18 fees I may have received the room for free from the points I earned but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have to pay resort fees and not extra items that were not usable after the poop incident. That is the best you could do?? Really?
You tell me after a poop plunger was used and rinsed off in the sink near your personal belongings such as tooth brushes, soap and not even wiped down you want us to continue to use it!!! I know things go on in a hotel that are unsanitary but we don’t see that. To see this done in front of me is DISGUSTING!
So now we are leaving super late, very disgusted and upset, and all that could be done was $36 waived from parking???? SMH you know this didn’t make it better but since we are hours behind our schedule I couldn’t stand there and go back and forth. You as a manager should handle things better. Is $36 waived going to make things better? We had to brush our teeth with our fingers due to poop water possibly touching our...
Read moreI stayed here for 2 nights in Feb 2024. All in all I enjoyed my stay and can definitely recommend it.|Location: To me the NYNY Hotel is in a great location at the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip. It's only a short walk to get to the main area of the Strip with the Bellagio, Caesar's Palace etc. The Harry Reid Int'l Airport is also only a short 10 minute drive from the hotel.|Parking: Available in a parking structure which is connected with the hotel via an enclosed pedestrian bridge. Self-parking is $18 per night for hotel guests and on departure day you can keep your car parked without additional fees even after check out time. Valet parking is $35 weekdays and $40 per night Fri-Sun.|Rooms: As with most (if not all) Vegas Strip hotels, room rates are generally lower on weekdays compared to weekends. Note that the hotel adds a daily resort fee of $42 + $5.62 in taxes. The rooms are very spacious and clean. There is a safe, iron & ironing board as well as a hair dryer in the room. I had a nice view of the Apple Coaster, MGM Grand and Tropicana Hotel (soon to be torn down to make room for the new Las Vegas A's ballpark) across the street as well as the airport in the background.|Casino Floor/Eateries/Experiences: The casino is home to almost 50 table games and over 900 slots. There's a center bar to grab drinks and also a small place for frozen cocktails. There are several eateries onsite. America is open 24/7. I had breakfast there one morning and it was ok. In the area called "The Village", you truly feel immersed in NYC. Here you can get NY style pizza, deli sandwiches, burgers, pastries, coffee, crepe, Mexican fare, watch sports at the Watch Bar and dance the night away at the Bar at Times Square which features a dueling pianos show every night. Chin Chin is an Asian restaurant, but in the mornings you can get an American Breakfast Buffet here. It's $28 and with tax and tip I paid around $36. I was not impressed by the food / selections and don't feel like it's worth the money. Lastly, the theater for Cirque du Soleil's Mad Apple is part of the Village. As you walk to the other side of the casino floor, you pass the Irish pub Nine Fine Irishmen and then you get to the Chocolate Bar. They have delicious cocktails infused with chocolate. Afterwards you can explore Hershey's Chocolate World for even more sweet stuff and merch. On the upper floor is a food court and another small bar with craft brews and then there is Coyote Ugly, a nightclub/bar based on the movie where the bartenders dance on top of the bar.|Arcade/Coaster: As you enter the hotel from the parking structure you'll see an arcade area and the Apple Coaster. It's $25 to ride the coaster and while I was staying at the hotel, they offered 2 for 1 rides. The roller coaster is a lot of fun. It starts and ends inside the building and the majority of the ride is on the outside of the hotel.|Pool: The pool was closed for the season while I was visiting but set to re-open early March. I was able to see it and was not impressed - especially if you compare it to the pool areas at other resorts on the Strip. It's essentially one pool and one jacuzzi and no greenery or anything to make it feel like an oasis. Also, there is a gym onsite, which I did not check out, but note that there is no spa at the hotel.|Surroundings: North of the hotel is an area called "The Park" with more eateries such as the Beerhaus and also two arenas: The T-Mobile Arena is home to the NHL team Vegas Golden Knights and Dolby Live is a concert venue across the street at the Park MGM. You can cross the Las Vegas Strip via a pedestrian bridge to get to the MGM Grand and then abnother bridge heading south gets you to the Excalibur hotel. There is also a tram station which offers free rides to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. I have a detailed video review of the NYNY Hotel on my YouTube channel for...
Read moreWhere do I begin…On August 12 at approx 9pm, I attended a cirque du soil show for my birthday(mad apple). My sister and I ordered two drinks and 1 order of popcorn. The waitress Trinity, took my card to open a tab. After the drinks were ordered my card was charged $47.69, we then ordered popcorn ($9), and my card was charged $103. I informed the waitress of this discrepancy and she claimed that they don’t put holds on bank cards, so she’s unsure of why that charge is there. I then spoke to the manager, Miranda, who was very much rude, abrasive, and Nonchalant about my concerns. It was actually as if her mind was already made up and nothing I voiced to her was heard. The entire conversation was one sided, because she kept interrupting and talking over me. On multiple occasions she told my they didn’t charge my card, even when I present the bank transaction on my phone. She then proceeded to insinuate that I must’ve bought something from somewhere else in the hotel, even after I informed her the only thing I purchased was the two drinks and popcorn. I even showed the date and time the transaction was made, which matched the receipt given to me by Trinity. Once I realized that there would be no resolution to my card being over charged, I asked for next of authority over Miranda and any corporate information, so that I can file a formal complaint or claim. Miranda then tells me that she’s the highest authority, which was a lie because she then wrote down the name of her manager after I kept asking. The next lie she makes is stating that the charge with the date and time on my receipt, wasn’t the same as the transaction I showed her on my bank account she claimed it wasn’t a charge from them. To no resolve, I proceeded to go back to the show to let my sister know what happened and that I was leaving because there was no way I could enjoy the show after money had been STOLEN off my card, to the point where it overdrafted my account. To my surprise, as we were walking out of the theater, security was there. I was confused because that entire exchange/interaction did not warrant security, however, Miranda, irresponsibly told them that I was hostile. This blatant lie and overuse of power, put me in a very unsafe and compromising position. I never yelled, cursed, or threatened her whatsoever, if anything I was concerned and upset, but still kept my composure. Instead of utilizing conflict resolution skills and showing any sort of empathy, she results to passing the situation on to security to handle, because she’s incapable of resolving conflict. Security being called actually helped my situation because the security confirmed that the transaction made on my card, was in fact from them, the food and beverage dept (Miranda lied and told me, they weren’t the same, even with dates, name of the place, NY NY Cirque, and the time was the same). I say this to say, be aware of this establishments food and beverage dept, there is something very sketchy and deceitful going on with these people. This was undoubtably the worst experience of my life. Miranda needs to be retrained and required to take a training/class on conflict resolution and customer service. This establishment needs to be...
