This aquatics bath house new braunfels has a policy of NO arm floaties which they strictly inforce and if you complain about it : they call the police and escort you out. This happened to me.
I was approached by 3-4 lifeguards that I my daughter could not wear the arm floaties, when I became irritated that she could not wear them I asked for them to produce a document that says my daughter can not wear them. One of the female managers tried to get me to listen to her excuses and I told to produce the documents end of discussion. And I walked away. She said do not be rude to me sir. So then the male lifeguards started to surround me and my family and then when we were about to leave. A Lead parks and Recreations officer arrived to force us to leave. I was insulted and angry and I wanted my 66 dollars I paid to get in to be escorted out for not being quiet about my dislike of the policy. I was told by many that it had to be coast guard approved arm floaties and that we could rent them from the business for $15.
The police were called by management to put a restraining order against me and gave me a warning that I could never step foot on that property again.
So Here what I am going to do since they will not return my money I will tell everyone what happened to me. I will not ever visit the business in the future and I will uses this issue to make them wish they had a different arm floaties policy. before this review. I usually hate reviews because they do not allow the business to learn from the error and make corrections before it hurts business. But the way I was treated and insulted and then lied to about this issue shows that its not worth visiting this business if you have very little children who need arm floaties.
Thank god these reviews are permanent. The Business IS part of the Parks &...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience at Landa Park Aquatic Complex. The ticketing staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We were charged $30 as a deposit for two life vests, with the promise that it would be refunded when we returned them. However, when we went to return the vests at 7 PM, they refused to refund our money, claiming that the vests needed to be returned by 6:45 PM. The ticketing person never mentioned this return time, and when we confronted her, she argued that she had informed us. If she had, how did the other two families behind us, who faced the same issue, miss this information as well? There were no disclaimers, no information notices, and we didn’t even receive a receipt for the deposit. They took back the vests but kept our deposit, which felt like a scam. I think that money went straight into their pockets.
When we tried to address this issue, the manager called a ranger who was rude and dismissive. The ranger didn't bother listening to our side of the story and instead threatened to call the cops. The situation escalated unnecessarily, and we were treated with racial prejudice.
I will be taking this matter to the City of New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department to report this fraudulent and discriminatory behavior. This place is nothing but a scam, with staff who are not only unprofessional but also discriminatory. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and...
Read moreCALL FIRST - Springfed pool schedule is unreliable - Love this place but whoever schedules the springfed pool is confusing. The springfed pool is closed on Tuesdays for "maintenance", but I have been going the entirety of this week and the springfed pool has not been completely open once. The only time it had a swimming portion open was this past Monday (still about half of the pool was closed). Since, it's only been the rope swing open wed/ thurs, and today (Friday) the Springfed isn't open at all. Meaning it was only open once this week (you can't swim by rope swing). Maybe alternate staff locations.. I heard staffing was an issue but the springfed is the main attraction and it was clear the rope swing wasn't being used much after the first two hours on both days (people kinda stood confused by the springfed pool for awhile). Despite not having enough staff for the springfed for basically the whole week, the zero pool always remained staffed. Same with the Olympic pool (except on their "Maintenace day" Monday of course) Figured New Braunfels would do a better job at maintaining consistency of this place, especially during Summer. Maybe add to your website that the scheduling of the Springfed is choppy and that calling...
