We rented the 8 Sages Gruene and the hot tub was broken, it wouldn't heat up. They didn't fix it for either night even though we notified them the first night (seems to be a recurring issue from other reviews). The main kitchen sink faucet had very low flow so it wouldn't wash dishes. The ice maker drain would back up and spill water out and we had to dig into the drain with a finger - fun. We were there for a surprise party for my wife and the cleaning crew was late, finishing up after the 4:00 check in which is not acceptable for a surprise party. When they did, they left the doors open the entire time and we had like 20 flies hovering around our food we were swatting with fly swatters. They didn't close the pool umbrellas and they flew all over before we were even settled in (check them yourself on check-in!). There were no wash cloths in the bathrooms for the ladies to use. there were no trash cans in the bunk house. Some of the showers had no shelf for a lady to put her razor or whatever on. I reported all the maintenance issues after the first night and none of them were fixed. There were a couple big issues, a lot of small issues that just didn't match my expectations. If it were a different price point a lot of that would slide, but at this level it was not acceptable to me. The property was attractive but they don't take care of it well or respond to issues. Read morePOOR COMMUNICATION WITH ISSUES AND FALSE PROMISES. Our stay at the property "Lazy A Lakeside" is Seguin was plesant, but unfortunately, the hot tub was not functioning properly as it failed to heat up. The company acknowled this had been an issue in the months prior. The management mentioned the owner would attempt to troubleshoot remotely, but the promised to send someone the following day. The offer was then retracted due to unavailability. I was told it would be a week before a technician could be out there... miraculously they were there the day after we checked out to say it was user error! Subsequently, they assured us of a refund, but communication ceased when we tried to follow up with any issues. Despite our attempts to reach out regarding the refund our calls went un ansswered. An email response from the company claimed that the problem was due to user error, reneging on their promise. This experience has left us disappointed and dissatisfied. We have decided not to use Big Chief rentals in the future due to their unresponsiveness and unfulfilled commitments.
