812 Gallery is a beautiful space with a carefully curated collection. The atmosphere is that of a quintessentially New Orleans setting, invoking both historical architecture and contemporary design esthetics. Jim Blanchard’s watercolors are meticulous in detail; and Thomas Bruno’s sculptures are, to me, reminiscent of what Degas may be creating if he were alive today. Other artists represented complete a delightfully eclectic exhibit. The staff, perhaps the proprietors I didn’t inquire, were extremely friendly, exceedingly knowledgeable and very patient with me as I visited the collection.
