This isn't the first time I've been here but it's the first time I'm asked to do a review. The event that I attended was Elton John's Farewell Tour. Needless to say, it was crowded. The staff were extremely helpful both inside and out. The outside staff were directing the flow of ppl to whichever entrance had the most vacancies. There were other staff between the outside of the building and the checkpoints reminding us to have our masks on and get proof of COVID vaccinations ready. Concertgoers did follow the instructions so that when we got to the checkpoint, it was smooth sailing. Your proof of vaccination (I used LA wallet)was assessed and if you had a bag with you, it was quickly searched. We then proceeded to the ticket area where our tickets were scanned and security wanded everyone to ensure no concealed weapons were present. Multiple staff members wished us to have a good time and just that little interaction stood out to me since they've just let tens of thousands of people in the doors. We also had to request security as someone was sitting in our seats and refused to get out of them. The gentleman reviewed our tickets to validate them then looked at the two women's tickets to do the same. Their seats were no where near ours and he made them move. He was quite professional about the whole encounter. The sound system was awesome! The Smoothie King Center is a top-notch venue. As I've heard from many fans, The Smoothie King Center is known to be one of the best places to catch live entertainment around town. The Smoothie King Center can hold up to 19,000 people. Please be aware that you must be masked, show proof of COVID vaccination or have a negative COVID PCR within the last 72 hours. Purses / backpacks 🎒 etc. are NOT allowed. However you can have a clear bag or a clutch no bigger than 4 inches...
Read moreOverall not a very helpful place. Considering the price you're paying for tickets, there should be a smoking area outside. I do not smoke personally but I don't think it's fair for people who do smoke and drink liquor to be stuck inside having a bad time.. Don't know who thought of that idea. I like to party when I go to concerts, not just sit in a chair and have a nicotine fit. Keep in mind I do not smoke but I could tell people we're uptight and having a hard time with the constraints. I probably would not go there again unless it was a really good venue. I and more apprehensive about recommending this place because I would have to explain to him how unreasonable this company is for their rules and constraints. When I asked a door person where the smoking area was for my wife. She beamed at us with joy in telling us that we weren't allowed to go outside and have a cigarette. If you sell cigarettes for $10 a pack that customer that buys that pack for $10 a pack can afford a $500 a seat ticket to see Duran Duran and Niles Rogers in concert. It would be a shame to have a concert like that and have to be unhappy the whole time while you're sitting there. Thanks smoothie King center for your socialist rules. I'm sure everyone has been financially benefiting from the cigarette tax New Orleans has taxed their poor people, so that no one can smoke at any venue they charge exorbitant amounts...
Read moreI went to the Smoothie King Center to watch the Rockets vs. Pelicans game and I had a blast. The atmosphere was electric, the fans were passionate, and the game was thrilling. The Pelicans dominated the Rockets with their high-octane offense and stellar defense. Zion Williamson and C.J. McCollum were unstoppable, scoring 30 and 28 points respectively. The Rockets tried to keep up, but they were missing their star rookie Tari Eason, who was out with a leg injury. Fred VanVleet and Jalen Green did their best, combining for 45 points, but it was not enough. The Pelicans won 127-105, extending their winning streak to four games.
The Smoothie King Center was a great place to watch the game. The seats were comfortable, the staff was courteous, and the amenities were top-notch. There were plenty of screens, speakers, and lights to enhance the viewing experience. The location was also convenient, as it was close to the downtown area and the riverfront. The only problem was the traffic, which was congested and chaotic after the game. I would recommend taking public transportation or parking far away from the arena.
Overall, I had a wonderful time at the Smoothie King Center. It was a fun and exciting way to spend a night in New Orleans. I would definitely go back for another game or event. The Smoothie King Center is one of the best...
