I was a member of this church for years . My husband was baptized had his first communion as well his confirmation in this church. We were married here. We wanted the same for our son to be baptized in OLPH however the staff working in the rectory is poorly managed. People have no customer service skills. We called to inquired about what were the hours and days we can come to register we were told from 9am-7pm. So we stopped by to get this done and that information was not accurate.Apparently there is only one person responsible for this and her availability was mon-Thursday from 9am-2pm. I asked if there was another way to apply since my husband and i both work.I asked if someone else would be able to a least discuss what was required on my end( the answer was no). They took my phone number down and i was told the person responsible for this would call me back. Im still waiting for a call back. I proceeded to follow up myself. I called and was helped by a lady named Sophia i explained my work schedule and what had occurred prior when i inquired . She gave me her email to send the required documents by email and that my son was enlisted. The only thing left to do was to go in and speak to the priest .An Email was sent and i tried to confirm that it was received for days. But it doesn’t matter how many people are in the office because no one picks up the phone .When you call you are prompted to leave a message and someone will call back . I have left multiple messages and no call backs. I went in person to confirm my email was received however i was told the email was never received and my son was not able to be baptized for the day . On top of that the staff has no accountability. The lady proceeded to say it was on me because I didn’t come in before. However when i was given the email address i was told by Sophia i just needed to submit the birth certificate and proof of address ( which was done)and the interview with the priest. In all im done with this back and forth .We will do it somewhere else. The priests are amazing however my advice will be to change the staff in the rectory other wise you will continue to loss members...
Read moreThere's more to this church than its beauty, marble, granite, soaring ceilings, side altars. lower church, Stations of the Cross, statues, stained glass, etc. Read the history that dates back to the mid-late 1800s and the variety of Catholics it has served since. It's a great church. I attended the grammar school (though they were tough on kids in the 40's) and experienced my religious teachings. It's an awesome church/Basilica. You should visit and...

MARTIN CROWE, was a real father figure for me and a grandfather to my girls. Since his passing I'd never gone back until now. The priest's I'd known have passed. However I was pleasantly surprised by the new generation of priest's . I no longer live near by but I will be making...
