Bedford Galleries — Attraction in New York

This place is fantastic. We were in town visiting and stumbled upon it after getting coffee. There were such gorgeous, unique, and well-priced pieces we ended up purchasing, hiring a third party shipping service, and getting a massive buffet table, 2 nightstands, cocktail table, and lamp to enjoy all the way back home in Illinois. It was SO worth it. Marcelo and his team were so sweet, efficient, and easy to work with. Right after I purchased, they immediately wrapped up all the items with cloth first then plastic wrap. He said no problem that they can store our items for free until we figured out how we would ship it back. They then ended up making sure to help load everything onto the moving truck once the person who was driving the items to us came to pick up. I wish I lived here- I would be here all the time to see what new finds they have and support their fantastic business. Next time we visit, we will be definitely...

I really love this store but had a pretty poor experience with a hold recently. I placed two chairs on hold, with my name and phone number, because I was told they were going to repair them then put them out. I found them ahead of the repair so they told me they would call in one week when it was done for me to come get them. I waited 2.5 weeks and there was no call. I called back and they sold them to someone WITHOUT telling me even though I had them on hold. I understand they need to make sales but I would have expected a call to check if I could get them before they sold. If that was the process, I also was not made aware of that when I placed the hold. Their response did not explain why it happened, just that they were sorry. Pretty disappointed as I love this shop and now feel unsure to shop there again. I would suggest being explicit when...

A good 70% of the mid-century modern furniture in my apartment is from Bedford Galleries. This team is simply the best—from answering queries on Instagram to handling deliveries perfectly, I have always been impressed and grateful for their excellent attitude (and their incredible finds). Very reasonable and fair prices, too, which can't be said for many vintage furniture stores around the city.
