Blind Barber — Attraction in New York

I have been to the BB many of nights loaded off the Tequila Sodas, as it is one of the best places to go out and activate in the East Village. It is also a true speakeasy, not one of them fake speakeasies. Y’all know what I’m talkin about. Great date night spot during the week too fellas…

But the real reason I’m writing this review is because the culmination of my life's work happened here on Thursday night. I was able to accept my 2023 Yelp Rookie of the Year Award. WE DID IT MOMMA! I DONE IT FOR US!

Early mornings and long nights at the keyboard paid off. Swiping my credit card to try a new place to review when I had food at home finally paid off. Telling my friends “sorry I can’t go to the club tonight, I got a dream to chase” paid off.

My heart, my mind, and my soul have gone into writing these reviews. My big bros actually sat me down one day to have an intervention saying something along the lines of:

"We are worried about you lil cuzzo all you do is write Yelp Reviews... I think you've lost your mind a bit... You were at 9th street espresso for 11 hours yesterday lil cuzzo..."

I just sat back, looked them dead in the eyes, and told them:

"You're right. I have lost my mind doing this. Like Vincent van Gogh. He dedicated his life to his art and lost his mind in the process. That's happened to me. But f--k it. When that 5 inch tall plastic trophy is my hands, when I have more random Yelp trinkets than I know what to do with, when I can chirp everyone else's food opinions by asking them how many Yelpies they have, when my Kids’ Kids can facetiously ask their little friends in Kindergarten 'Wait, how many Yelpies does your Grandpa have?'... then it will pay. Then I'll be happy I lost my mind."

MANHATTAN BEACH!!!!! THIS IS FOR YOU!!!!!!!!! AND MY MOMMA I LOVE YOU MOMMA!!!!!!!!

What a great Yelp Elite event though, drinks were amazing and Johnnie Walker was hosting it. Yelp is on a HEATER this year with these events. They can't miss in 2024!

Came here via a promotional event that featured Johnnie Walker. Pthere's something about cold weather and the seeming warmth of quality drinks that is timeless and a comforting feeling. a busy event of custom cocktails via the elixir experts utilizing Johnnie Walker in each of the three signature cocktails: the Lychee Highball, The Johnnie Jett, and the Earl Grey Old Fashion. all were well-made cocktails but the winner in my book was the Johnnie Jett-- the smooth & booziness of Johnnie Walker plus the kick of citrusy Aperol. who knew Johnnie Walker Black Label --a Scotch Whisky--worked so well in a mixed drink? though the bar was teeming with people...the bartenders hit the mark and put out an insane amount of drinks during the event while chatting with us. a fun night of revelry and chatter to make a mundane...

Blind Barber is an experience - a very decent bar and restaurant, with the real emphasis on a good blend of classic and modern men's barbering. The fixed rate deal (drink + haircut) is pretty good - and it certainly makes waiting for your appointment a lot easier. The bar selection is expansive for a barber shop, and comparable, if not better to the bars in the area. Generally positive experience with barbers; efficient and competent. Overall, would recommend it as a novelty experience, and certainly an option for long-term hair care if you're willing to schedule for enough in advance.
