I was incredibly disappointed and embarrassed with the sympathy arrangement that showed up a my grieving friend's doorstep. And even more disappointed that the owner of the shop offered no remedy to the situation -- in fact, she didn't even bother to reply.
I ordered the "Mother Gaston" - a simple, minimal and sleek arrangement but what was designed and delivered was a far deviation from what was pictured online. I understand that there's a "substitution policy" but in no way did the new arrangement reflect or preserve "the style, theme, or color scheme" of the original arrangement-- as their policy promises. Unfortunately, there was nothing luxe, modern or "sculpturally engaging" about the new arrangement, nor was it in the same aesthetic.
In fact, the aesthetic of The Mother Gaston is sleek and minimal with 2 styles of orchids but this arrangement was made with several varieties of flowers and greenery spilling out of an awkward vase straight out of the 80's.
Furthermore, there was no attempt by the florist to contact me to communicate that certain flowers were not available or that the overall design was being changed in such a drastic way.
The recipients who were grieving over the loss of their mother expressed that they were very confused to receive such an arrangement. I do not think that it was appropriate for a sympathy occasion which was clearly indicated in the order and within the enclosed note.
I paid close to $200 for this arrangement, including tax, delivery and tip and asked that she refund me for what I paid for the flowers. The owner offered no recourse when we spoke on the phone and had no response to a follow up email. I tried every avenue to resolve this before having to leave a bad review on a small business during these times.
However, customers are struggling too -- particularly when the money spent was with the intention of bringing peace, beauty and condolences to a grieving family. This business owner doesn't seem to care that their online flower arrangement offerings are not what actually gets designed and delivered; but instead, hides behind a "substitution policy" that is completely...
Read moreCompletely wrong order that was not even going to be delivered until I called at 9 pm on Friday night. This place forgot about my order :(
I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately had a terrible experience all the way through.
Forgot my order Wrong order sent when I reminded and called them Delivery person called me 6 times on Friday night because they didn't know how to deliver (never happened before) No customer service update after a couple of days, they said they'd update immediately
I scheduled a delivery for Friday, confirmed. On the day of, no updates of a delivery window.
I finally called after hours around 9 pm just to check what had happened since I had a busy day. I needed these flowers Saturday morning. At this point the store was already closed on Friday night.
The one good thing is someone answered and said the flowers were already picked up just now. How would a delivery just be picked up at 9 pm on a Friday, and I didnt get a notice?
THEN I get a text update 40 minutes later that the flowers had just been picked up.
So it seems this order was COMPLETELY forgotten, rushed to make it, and then delivered only AFTER I called.
NEXT - the delivery person called me 6 times while I was at dinner because they could not figure out the delivery. I have never had issues with delivery, I completely understand it's a weird street, but delivery people all know my area. I wonder if an actual delivery person even did the job or if it was last minute someone else.
NEXT - completely wrong flowers. Look at the picture I ordered (DELUXE, so even bigger) vs. what I got. $135 for about 10 pieces. Sorry but that's not what I decided to purchase. The photo is false advertising unless this was a mistake.
I had to rush and get a new arrangement the next day.
NEXT I called customer service and sent an email on Saturday morning, the service rep said they'd get back to me right away. Two whole days and no answer.
Super sad and disappointed all around. Heard great things. These things happen, but I didn't appreciate the way it...
Read moreAs I was planning my NYC wedding from Europe, BK blooms seemed like the perfect option, as it was close to our Airbnb and the ratio price/quality seemed better than in other places. I had chosen my bouquet and was ready to order 2 months before the wedding (June). When I called to see how I should go about asking a few questions and order, the staff told me that I had to email the owner. I did this and to this day I have never received a response. I followed up to my first email in July and nothing. In between, I called several times with the hope of advancing and the response was always the same: the staff in store did not have any information as to how they could accommodate the order to my needs and asked for my patience to get a response via email directly from the owner. On August 18 (only days before the weeding) we stopped by the store with the hopes that we could get this over with and nothing changed. The staff at the counter could not care less about our frustration nor the urgent need we had to cross this off our list. I needed the flowers by 9am on the event day and the best they could offer was to have the bouquet ready the day before by 6pm. When I said "Ok, I will be here at 6pm", the guy advised me that I should be there well before 6pm because people would leave 6pm sharp. Then, he started to hesitate on the closing time and asked us to wait for the owner to arrive. Tired of waiting and of receiving information half way, we did not go through with the order and stormed out of the store. HAVE YOU SEEN THE WONDERFUL FLOWERS YOU CAN GET IN THE FLOWER SECTION OF SUPERMARKETS (AND SIMILAR SHOPS) FOR $65? My aunt ended up putting together a bouquet that was gorgeous and perfect for half the price! I would never consider ordering from this...
