The reviews speak for themselves. This place is horrific. The people working at the front are clueless. When you work in health care, please show some compassion and do not be hostile with an attitude. I was prescribed a 10 day dose of antibiotics for a recurring ear infection. As I was walking my dog, the remainder of my pills fell out of my pocket. I am half way through the course of treatment and everyone knows you’re not supposed to just pause a treatment of antibiotics because then you can become resistant for future treatment. I call the pharmacy to see if they can help me and they said this kind of stuff happens all the time and to simply call the doctor to send a script for the remainder of the pills. I call City MD & they refused to fill the script, and then the receptionist Amanda with her condescending attitude says it’s illegal to fill a script over the phone. I told her that is not true and the doctor has filled out a script for me after speaking on the phone before and she says well he shouldn’t have done that because it’s illegal. You are kidding with that statement right? These people are completely unqualified to work there. Mind you I already had a serious issue with this location as they lost my mothers blood work. Yes LOST her blood work. The manager, Nicole transfers me to an aftercare call line that no body picks up the phone and apparently they can help me. I will be making sure to escalate this to corporate superiors. A simple situation that they should be able to help with and they refuse to find a solution. Once again when you work in health care you show compassion, you don’t treat people with such disregard especially in time of sickness.
Update: The manager Nicole assured me an after care department would reach out to me last night to help me and ofcourse no one ever called me. So ofcourse I was left with no solution to continue my treatment. The pharmacist could not believe how negligent this location was being regarding a serious and...
Read moreThis company is a total ripoff. Put it simply, even though you are the one paying for their service, you have to do all the work. They take nor responsibility for anything. Below is an account of my visit on a quiet morning with very few patients.
Procedure: Spend 20 minutes filling out the really annoying information on a glorified I-Pad. The process includes signing multiple waivers. You really need to bring a lawyer, if you could afford one. So now you are at the realization that they aren't responsible for anything. Wait to see a doctor. Doctor and nurse were fine. Wait for your results......and wait.... and wait. Then the blame game starts. "You made a little mistake in that 20-minute form, so we can't print out your results" Wait again ..... Go and come back an hour later. "Were still waiting. You should have not made that tiny mistake in filling out our computerized form... now we don't know what to do" Sit and wait, and wait .... Ask them if they can mail on the results when they finally figure out how to use their computer system. Answer = NO. Next, get presented with another waiver to sign. This one stating something like, "they are not responsible for sending out results". ???? I refuse to sign, as I have had enough of this extended runaround and legal trickery. Leave without getting any results, even though I had paid for this 2 1/2 hours of incompetence and legal smoke and mirrors.
Conclusion: This place masquerades as a medical facility, however they have you sign so many waivers, they are NOT taking responsibility for anything, except taking your money. Why do these corporations force people to sign so many legal documents just to get some basic testing done? Then, after all the BS they put you through, they still can't provide you with any results.
Stay away from these clowns and find a real doctor...
Read moreDr. Carnaru Is very rude. Please avoid this doctor.
I recently took my mother to CityMD in Maspeth, and while the initial experience with the staff was positive, the visit ultimately left us disappointed due to the unprofessional behavior of the doctor.
From the start, the front desk staff and medical assistants were kind, professional, and attentive. They listened to my mother’s concerns, took her vitals, and ensured that she was being heard. Everything was going smoothly until Dr. Carnaru entered the room.
When I began raising concerns about my mother’s health, Dr. Carnaru displayed an unprofessional and dismissive attitude. Instead of clearly explaining the treatment plan, she responded with condescension. When I asked whether my mother would need an X-ray, her response was a curt and unnecessary “Yes, what do you think?”—a tone that felt rude and dismissive.
As she was rushing to leave, I tried to bring up another serious concern: my mother was experiencing blood in her urine. Instead of addressing this with care, she snapped back with “What do you think we can do everything? She needs to go to a hospital now.” While I understand that urgent care centers have limitations, the way she communicated this was completely uncalled for. A compassionate and professional response would have been to calmly explain the situation and recommend the next steps without making us feel like a burden.
Overall, while the staff at CityMD Maspeth was wonderful, Dr. Carnaru’s attitude and lack of bedside manner ruined the experience. Patients deserve respect, especially when dealing with serious health concerns. I hope CityMD takes patient feedback seriously and ensures that all doctors treat their patients with the professionalism and compassion...
