I was serving in the church for about 6 months satisfactorily, I had my baby for 2 years in the nursery, the head of the department of the nursery named Jenna had rude and indifferent attitudes with me and my baby from the beginning, I remember one occasion About 2 months ago when I tried to enter my child to the nursery and Jenna did not let me in because my child had a bit of snot on his nose, his attitude towards me always little cortex and rude, the second occasion a week before Halloween, I remember how she did not want to inform me about the special event that the children had about taking them to the nursery dress custom for that event, finally my baby had to be that day as the ugly duckling of the class because all the children were properly dressed to the event. the last incident happened last Sunday, the moment I go with my husband to pick up my child she Jenna use these words (there something wrong with your son) he is touching the children clothes, we ask where is my child , she says, he is in the room on the side, which was in the room on the side, but he was without his shirt and vest, he was in a room isolated from the other children attended by a girl of the same age. 9 or maybe 10 years and the most frightening of all in a room with the windows open to a temperature of 25 degrees Farenheit, when I picked up my child was frozen arms, crying because I did not want to be in that room alone and cold. parents take great care where they leave their children, because yesterday this sad situation happened to me and my baby tomorrow that situation could happen to you. nothing bad or wrong has my son, on the contrary, he attends a school for about 9 months and only receives compliments from his teachers for the brilliant mind that my son has. Sorry to have written me so much in the word but I really want you to know what happened to me in this place. be...
Read moreWe truly wanted to find a place of peace and inspiration after a difficult week, but unfortunately, our experience here left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. The service was led by Minister Sharon and the entire plus hour service was focused wholly on her personal stories of racial injustice and political commentary. While we understand the need to speak truth and share lived experiences, the message included repeated negative references to white people and political imagery like the Berlin Wall and civil rights protests.
My husband and I came hoping to feel uplifted and spiritually connected, but instead felt alienated by what came across as a one-sided, divisive message. We looked around and realized we were among the only white people present, which only heightened our discomfort as the sermon continued. We are not political people and were not expecting to be part of a space that seemed to promote a strong racial and political agenda. It felt more like a lecture than a service.
We believe in unity, healing, and mutual respect, and we were truly hoping to find that here. Sadly, we did not. We won’t be...
Read moreThis was my first time coming to this church. I came with my son, as soon as I step foot into the church I felt comfortable. As soon as I walked in where the sermon took place the music had such a presence. I felt as if I was being hugged by Jesus spirit and it brought me to tears. My son loved the music and was just taking all the energy in. It felt great as a first experience to be welcomed in such a way. Pastor Rich, began the sermon with an ice breaker to build community within the members introducing oneself to another member and a member named Russell introduced himself and explained a little about the church and about the Sunday school for kids. He later introduced me to the teacher Ms Brenda so I can go and take a look at the Sunday school. I loved that everyone treated my son and I with much kindness. I’m glad I made the decision to come visit this church. I will definitely be returning...
