I’m disappointed with the service at Club Pilates Fresh Meadows lately. I originally gave this studio 5 stars, but I’ve had to lower my rating because of the decline in customer care and responsiveness.
It feels like concerns brought to the staff are often ignored, dismissed, or just never addressed. The only consistently great instructor here is Maureen — she’s excellent — but unfortunately, the rest don’t measure up. Another major issue is the class schedule. The more challenging classes are never at convenient times, and despite multiple requests from several members (including myself) for earlier and more frequent advanced classes, no changes have been made.
Since new management took over, they’ve also implemented an unreasonable “five-minute rule,” which I feel is overly rigid. One morning, I was stuck behind a garbage truck and ended up a few minutes late. I explained the situation to the front desk, but the staff member was unhelpful and refused to let me join, even though it was early in the morning and clearly out of my control.
On top of that, many classes spend way too much time on footwork, which takes away from having a more well-rounded and challenging workout.
Overall, I’m really disappointed with how this studio is being run now. The lack of flexibility, poor customer service, and unwillingness to listen to member feedback have taken away from what used to be a...

Club Pilates Fresh Meadows — can’t complain at all about the staff, instructors, or the space. Everyone’s amazing and the vibes are always great!
BUT… I do wish the terms could be a little more forgiving. I’ve lost class credits I already paid for just because I didn’t use them within the month. It’s automatic, and honestly, it feels a bit unfair — especially when those classes were paid with hard-earned money to help me feel better, not stress me out more ..
I totally get that there are policies, but maybe there could be an option to carry over unused classes for a bit longer? Life gets busy — I’m trying to stay consistent with Pilates and work to afford the membership. A little wiggle room would mean a lot.
Just sharing this as a...
Read moreI have attended 19 classes here, and on several occasions I’ve noticed others arriving 10–15 minutes late and still being allowed in. Yesterday was my first time arriving late (7:09 for a 7:00 PM class), and the general manager refused to let me in, stating there’s a strict 5-minute cut-off. While I understand policies, I’ve seen this rule not enforced consistently with other members.
In addition, I’ve noticed the studio isn’t being cleaned thoroughly under the equipment, and a few classes have felt unpleasant because of it.
The instructors are great I have not went to one class I can say the workout was not worth it. However when it comes to my overall experience it is clear to me that it’s time for me to leave...
