E & N Pet Paradise Shop — Attraction in New York

I have lived around the corner from this neighborhood landmark/establishment for 10 years and not only is Augie a staple and hero of the neighborhood, he truly provides a wonderful experience for his customers. I have no idea what some of these people are speaking of, he is a niche business and he's been in this location and servicing this area for over 40 years!!! Some of these reviews are disrespectful to that fact!! He is a pleasant, bright man and anyone who talks to him for one second knows that he is nothing more than a proud New Yorker, and he handles his business and relationships with customers and friends in the neighborhood like a true diplomat. I looked at some of the negative reviews and I could tell that a few of them were freaking bots, also I can't imagine in all these years of doing business that someone won't be satisfied completely.... but this man, this shop owner...

I originally went to trade in some African Cichlids. So I could set up a discus tank. I planned on getting my fish there until my experience tuned as bad as it gets. I brought my fish there, I hadn't set up the discus tank yet, so the owner said in the meantime take one of these catfish I just got in. Within 2 days it was dead and had white stuff on it. I was able to treat my tank but it had spread a pathogen to my water. Luckily no death but I had to treat the tank for 2 weeks. The owner of the store never contacted me after a month of trying to get an answer from him. Finally contacted me the other day denying any fault, like I don't know what Im doing. Says he's a business man for 40 yrs. I asked what he will do to make this right. No answer!! This place was an absolute joke!!! I just had the most wonderful surprise! After travelling all the way to New Jersey to obtain a particular type of pet bird, in vain I might add, I was very pleasantly surprised to find this pet wonderland, right here in the heart of the Bronx. The location is very easily accessible, whether by public transportation or private car. On entering the shop, a lovely ambience of all things "pet" enveloped me, causing me to stop and stare and go exploring, as opposed to just getting my bird and getting out as I had initially planned. Augie proved to be most accomodating, knowledgeable, calm and helpful, and his pleasant demeanor also went a long way in my ascertainment of what would best suit my needs.
