Brutally honest review of this gym as someone who has been coming here for the better part of 18 months ā I absolutely love this place, however, there are a few problems I have with it.
The positives: A lot of readily available gym equipment, regardless of the time Iām there. Even if all Iām there for is basic cardio, generally speaking, the wait times are almost nonexistent. The staff Iāve spoken with and have interacted with, including the front desk, has been nothing short of excellent. Iāve even witnessed staff helping the handicapped and the elderly get to certain workout machines in order to help make it easier for them to move around the gym. Gym floors are constantly being cleaned, even as youāre working out, to ensure a clean environment for all attendees. Bathrooms are regularly cleaned, hand soap always available, and gym equipment is regularly sanitized by employees if they notice someone who recently finished a workout didnāt clean their station themselves.
The negatives: a few pieces of gym equipment are rusted, although it does seem to appear that they are replacing certain things. Recently I noticed they changed the leather on the bicep curl machine, and no exposed foam on the chest rest was visible, which is great. That being said, it still leaves behind the fact that many machines do deal with rust, and some even arenāt labeled. This might make it difficult for newer users of said machines to know how to properly use a machine, and without proper names, they canāt even look up how to properly and safely perform the exercise. Get those labels!
a few treadmills have broken over the last few months, and Iām unsure if theyāre attempting to fix it or not, but have seen the same OUT OF ORDER sign on two treadmills for at least a month or two now. This has cut down on readily available gym equipment, which sucks but there are still other things like the ellipticals which are available. Although some are missing the phone stands, which while inconvenient, isnāt the end of the world.
Lastly, while this isnāt an issue with the gym itself, it does warrant a comment: I stopped going to the gym in the mornings because of the crowd that seems to be there throughout the first few hours of the morning. Generally a group of 7-9 older gentleman who say some pretty grotesque things. Constantly saying things after women walk by, sexualizing them in some form. A few wear their political opinions on their clothing, which is fine, but it becomes problematic when they discuss those politics loudly with some rather colorful language. A few times Iāve heard racial remarks used, and while this isnāt a knock on the gym itself, it is interesting to note that the gym doesnāt seem to mind this crowd roaming around in the mornings. All in all, this is merely the morning crowd, and they tend to disperse around 10 AM. For the sake of restraining myself from complaining about these men, Iāve decided to simply work out in the afternoons, when the crowd is not there, and I can simply workout in peace without having to hear said crowd.
All in all, Iām giving it five stars regardless, as I know this gym is actively listening to feedback from their members and trying to ensure a safe workout environment for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you're into cleanliness this is not the gym for you. After a certain hour the main bathroom is closed and you have to share one bathroom with however many people are there. No one restocks the bathroom or cleans it. There's urine all over the floor and on the toilets. Also do not bring a bike or a scooter because if you leave it tied up outside it will get destroyed. My scooter got vandalized every time I left it outside. And what's the point of having such a large gym if you're going to wind up getting staff infection of MRSA while you're there. I alsoTried to cancel my membership on numerous occasions and couldn't get in touch with anyone until recently. Then the owner tells me that I have an overdue balance of $41 but Then they try to take $112 from my account. So if you're not paying attention to your bank account they will take your money. Especially if they see that you're not paying attention.
So as everyone can see the owner just blatantly called me a liar. Then the owner emails me personally and gets massively sarcastic and tries to shame me. I guess that's the type of professionalism that you'll be dealing with when you're in this gym. I understand defending yourself but to come out and call me a liar. YOU'RE THE LIAR! That's crazy especially when there's so many other people saying the same thing that I'm saying. Then he's trying to say that I have an outstanding account when it's not my fault that you guys have a terrible system and stoped taking the money. Then all of a sudden you want to come and take it all in one lump sum. AND WHOEVER WROTE THE RESPONSE IS UNPROFESSIONAL SARCASTIC CLOWN. YOU'RE WRITING THE REVIEW LIKE YOU KNOW ME! YOU SHOULD TAKE THINGS...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: The owner emailed me twice and let me know how disappointed me because of the review and make fun of me. I had to beg him to cancel the membership. I emailed him and asked him 4 times, called the gym 3 times, and when I went to the gym in person to cancel my membership, they said that only the owner could do it. It is a joke! Their slogan is "No Excuse, Just Result!" But it should be: "No Excuse, No Respect, No Healthy Place, No Cleanliness, No AC, etc."
We have repeatedly asked the staff not to mop right next to us with strong-smelling chemicals. The chemical mop is extremely harmful to the human body, especially during workouts. But the staff doesn't care; their rude response is simply, "I need to clean." Well, I just want to work out, which I pay for.
The place is filthy. Thereās a 2-centimeter layer of dust on the mirrors, there are a lot of mold on the water machine (very disgusting), crazy much dust on the ceiling fan, etc. yet they somehow prioritize mopping with strong smelling chemical. Itās an unhealthy, dirty environment where men are allowed to work out shirtless and blast their own loud music. Bring your own speaker because no one here cares about anyone else. (Neither the members nor the personal trainers care, just like the "receptionist-cum-cleaning staff"...
