Don't miss it : ) Not just because it's the famous Central Park but, we saw a beautiful "older" couple on a bench only in their early 60s maybe late 50s. She was leaning so contently against his chest he had his arm around her and THEY WERE BOTH SMILING and conversating. Then there was a couple getting engaged, a kissing couple, and 2 wedding parties being photographed. You can't find that much joy all in one place anywhere else I don't think. Maybe the Eiffel Tower? We walked in by the Ritz Carlton, headed towards the Gapstow bridge and all of them were before we even hit the bridge!!!
We watched a squirrel dig for an acorn, RIGHT NEXT TO OUR BENCH, and cover the hole with a leaf when he was done and run off to search another spot to feast on his buried acorn! There were 2 men sitting alone across the Pond as soon as we went down the stairs! Separate from each other. : ) That spoke volumes of the peace to be found. Mangos and fruit for sale galore also so bring. cash.
Now go! : ) Enjoy yourself and leave your review and pics too so we can see how you experienced...

Today, whether reflecting skyscrapers or simply taken on its own merits, the Pond is a very integral part of Central Park.
The northerly view from the bridge is marred by the sight of the Wollman rink which replaced part of the Pond in 1951 with an ice-skating rink and a crescent-shaped brick bunker. Built on a lake bottom without proper underpinnings, with the result that it repeatedly settled, the rink was replaced by the present...
