this place was a nightmare. i came here for my birthday and it was horrid. my best friend who was a POC was denied entry to the restaurant until i arrived but everyone else was let in to wait. i should’ve left right then but i gave this place a chance nonetheless. i was standing at the front watching servers walking around like they were lost and there was nobody at the door to greet us or direct us. we needed to ASK a server where to go and who to speak to. a manager asked us to wait in the lobby area and while we waited he came back a few minutes later and snapped at us to wait longer though we hadn’t even complained at all??? not only had i waited 45 minutes past my reservation time. they asked us to leave the lobby area and wait in a small hallway between the bar and dining area completely in the way of guests, employees AND coat check so “they wouldn’t forget about us” and give away our table. an employee decided to caress my back as he walked past and another employee even said that we were “so worried about the table and not about the food”. when we were finally seated we noticed all the tables were extremely close together and our table was in front of the EMERGENCY EXIT. we had to get up when we were seated so a disabled women could leave through said emergency exit which i completely did not mind, i just don’t understand why there was a table in front of a fire exit in the first place. i ordered the basil and pesto pappardelle and immediately sent it back, it was flavorless, i opted for what they call their “most famous dish” the baked tangiolini and it tasted like ramen with cheese melted over it, extremely disappointing. one of the servers found out it was my birthday and proceeded to ask me my age and make guesses, extremely rude. everything about this place was extremely underwhelming and embarrassing especially for the price. $350 bill and I can’t say anyone in my party enjoyed any part of their meal, this restaurant is absolutely NOT a fine dining experience. however our server did his absolute best to better my birthday experience he sung me happy birthday and introduced me to their famous meringue cake which was probably the only good part of the entire...
Read moreI came here to celebrate my 22nd birthday tonight, and unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of awful. From the moment we walked in through the coat check entrance, the vibe was off. The servers and even the manager greeted us with frowns and an air of disdain. One particular manager stood out for all the wrong reasons—he was incredibly rude. I was genuinely caught off guard, especially since we entered through a door that led directly to the dining area, with no clear check-in station. When I gave my name for our reservation, the manager barely acknowledged me and responded with an attitude that set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Once we were seated at a tiny, awkward corner table, the discomfort continued. My dad tried to make a lighthearted joke to one of the waiters to ease the tension, and the response was bizarrely judgmental and awkward. It's one thing for the staff to be rude to me, but when they treat my parents with the same disrespect, that crosses the line. The service was incredibly disjointed, with no fewer than 10 different waiters coming to our table, none of them making an effort to make us feel welcome or valued.
It wasn’t until my dad ordered a bottle of wine that we finally saw a smile from the staff. Meanwhile, that same condescending manager was chatting it up with every other table around us, but made no effort to acknowledge ours. The servers seemed bored and uninterested, and the overall atmosphere was stale and lacking energy. The ambiance felt flat, with no warmth or personality to make the experience feel special.
As for the food, it was incredibly mediocre. Definitely not worth the prices they’re charging. At that point, I was already so uncomfortable and dissatisfied that I just wanted to leave before we even placed our order.
I really wanted to enjoy this meal, but Harry Cipriani clearly has a long way to go when it comes to customer service. This place seems to be riding on its reputation, but there’s a serious need for improvement. As customers, we are the ones keeping businesses like this afloat, and it's disheartening to be treated with such indifference. I won’t...
Read moreWe popped in for an impromptu lunch, with ideas of fantastic food and reputation urging us in. The staff was kind enough and that was the only positive. The salads came quickly, though the burrata was large, it was quite tough, not enough tomatoes on the side to enjoy it. The endives were not so crisp with far too much dressing smothering them. . The main course food was aweful, nothing fresh or of Italian quality whatsoever. My daughter’s risotto was akin to airline food- economy quality. God love her for trying to finish it because she had noted the price. My husband’s medium-rare tartare burger was fully brown and with the flavor of sour milk and consistency of American school-lunch Sloppy-Joes. Thank you Harry Cipriani for an amazing post lunch search for toilets as we made it back to our hotel with no less than three stops. Two out of our party of 5 suffering diarrhea, while the youngest was starving by 5pm after poking at the not-so-impressive spinach-ricotta ravioli, doubtful any ricotta found it’s way off the menu and into the ravioli. The eldest had a chicken club sandwich which was merely mediocre leftovers- it seems the roast chicken a main course is made into a chicken salad that is stuffed into white sandwich bread and grilled in a clamshell panini maker- and that’s not a club sandwich-anywhere. It wasn’t delicious either. Lastly, with several fish courses on the menu and expectations high…my John Dory was not so fresh and am fairly certain that despite being over cooked possessed nary a hint of the classic flaky and light John Dory fish. The olive-cherry tomato roulade smothering the dish made up no flavor enhancements except to over-power the entire dish with acidity. Lastly, the Bellini cocktail was meh, definitely not made with fresh peach-probably a purée made days ago and certainly not from the delicate white peaches mused about in the Venice cookbook- Buyer beware, at these prices not only did the food truly embarrass Italian cooking but we were sick because of it. What a...
