I went to the garden section and talked to the gardener in the back. We had the following conversation.

Me: smiling Hey, do you have any plants that are easy to take care of and smell nice?

Gardener: stern and fast response I don’t have anything that’s is easy to take care of. Everything here requires care.

Me: duh all plants require a certain degree of care I can take care of the plant, do you have anything that smells nice?

Gardener: We don’t have what you’re looking for here, we don’t carry anything fragrant. walks away

Mind you we were surrounded by all types of flowers that smelled quite nice.

I definitely believe he didn’t want me in his store because of my race/appearance (I’ve dealt with this before, I’m of Indian descent and I wear a turban).

I was on the phone with a friend who overheard the entire conversation and he also agreed that it sounded like the guy just genuinely did not want me in his store.

I still bought a couple plants since I traveled from so far away, but I kind of regret giving them my business. I recommend you take your business somewhere else if you care about this type of thing.

TLDR: Felt racist vibes from Gardner, if you care about such things, take your...

Very disappointing, Bought three fruit tree last year: blueberries, cherry, and peach. Blueberries and cherry died. Since in July + COVID they don’t have stock. They said won’t return the cash back to me, only store credit allow. Ok I understand and accepted. 80+30=110

However, this year went back. I want to buy the exact same cherry and blueberries tree back but they don’t allow. Because of the tree price went up. Now the cherry is 100+35=135

They owe me two tree last year and I have the store credit for one year and now I still have to pay the mark up. It’s ridiculous. In the end, bought a pear tree and small strawberry.

I understand if I bought the different tree I have to pay the mark up, but buying back the same fruit tree that died due to their tree quality, it’s not acceptable.

Will not recommend anyone to go again. It’s better off buying the fruit tree somewhere else. Like home depot at least they got guarantee of your own money back.

Plus, if you shop around. The fertilizer and plant are higher than the...

I used to love going to garden world because of convenience and their selections. But now I hate going there and will only go once in a blue moon to see what they have or to get soil. Every time I talk to the greenhouse buyer ( old man) he’s always rude. I asked him if they will be carrying string of hearts and he replied with “ no they are very toxic plants” and then a few weeks later I go back I see them hanging for sale .... okay great I brush it off. Then another encounter I asked him when will you guys be carrying calathea white fusions again as I’ve seen them for sale before ... he replied with “rarely ever. It’s not suited for NY weather and I’ve been the buyer here for 6 years”... and then I said I bought one not too long ago and it died on me and he replied with “ well that’s not my fault” ... what kind of customer service is that ?! Even when I said excuse me the first two times he never bothered looking up from doing whatever he’s doing to give me his...

My family and I went there for the Fall/Halloween festival...it was fun. The decorations, the kiddie kides, the ponies, the animals were absolutely wonderful. Free entrance, but beware they charge an outrageous price for face painting, pumpkin painting, other stuff. The tickets for the rides were $30.00 for 20 tickets which isn't great because half the rides are 3 or more tickets. The bouncy house is limited to 5 minutes. The pony ride is $9.00 for about a 5 minute walk if lucky. We were all going to do the trackless train ride but no adults were permitted which wasn't right...we saw other adults on the train. They do sell snacks, pies, apple cider, candied apples all expensive. They should charge an entrance fee and include everything else in that price. Trust me... nothing is free in that place

I have been to this local garden shop pretty frequent recently since I bought a new house nearby. I agree with some comments saying there was this one blonde old lady at cashier is pretty rude and impatient. However, other staff members are always helpful and knowledgeable. Also when I visit yesterday, they had a new cashier who was sooooo much nicer……… Since I’m new to the planting, I always ask questions when I purchase in there, and I always get answers. The young lady at the repotting center also didn’t charge me for the potting soil since I bought a pot in the store. Overall I am pretty satisfied with this local garden store, and will definitely revisit again.
