The Manhattan Temple is beautiful! It was on the smaller side since I’m used to all the big temples in Utah but It was equally beautiful and the temple security and workers were so kind and loving! We met temple workers which were a set of Senior missionaries from Boise Idaho that helped us and were so nice!!! Along with Brother and Sister Weist which were also temple workers and had the sweetest and most inviting spirit!!!wr came here with our daughter for service work and enjoyed the beautiful building and spirit of the Savior. After we went upstairs because we heard there were beautiful paintings and I didn’t realize that the church chapel was upstairs. Never seen that’s before above a temple but it looked just like the chapel buildings back at home in Utah. It has a great layout and Everything they needed. Inside this building was also a family history area. I was so surprised to see how much they were able to build at that location. The Temple is built in a beautiful location close to Central Park and like always the temple grounds are well kept. Wish I could have attended the Sunday services but was so glad to have attended the temple with my family. Loves this place and will visit again if...
Read moreI am from New Mexico but a few weeks ago I came to NYC and had the opportunity to go through the temple for myself for the very first time. It was really special and the temple in Manhattan is beautiful. As soon as you walk in the noise of the busy New York traffic fades away. It’s almost magical to experience how quiet and sacred it feels in that temple. When we were first getting checked in we sat down in the foyer for just a second when we looked and in walked David Archuleta, the singer! That was so special and it was great to shake his hand and to hear him say “congratulations brother” after I completed initiatory for the first time. It reminded me that no matter who we are, we all matter to the Lord, and we are all brothers and sisters. The temple in Manhattan is a great blessing and opportunity. It was definitely the highlight of the trip despite the musicals, restaurants, and the Baseball game we went to. I hope anyone who visits New York is able to attend the temple and have the same experience that I had. I had a wonderful experience and I hope that when I’m older I can bring...
Read moreOne of my friends and I were visiting Manhattan for a day on our way to Normandy for the 75th anniversary of the June 6th, 1944 invasion of France (known to most people as D-Day), and one of the places that we wanted to see is the Manhattan temple. Unfortunately there was some kind of renovation being done to the building so there was scaffolding all around the front, but I took a few photos anyway. We didn’t do a session or even go into the temple proper (I don’t know about my friend, but I intentionally left my recommend at home, and we were not properly dressed for the House of the Lord), but we chatted for a few minutes with the very courteous security guard about how the temple and ward meetinghouse are arranged in the building. She said we could go up into the meetinghouse, but we politely declined and...
