Melrose Playground — Attraction in New York

It's in the middle of the projects... a few basketball courts, a few handball courts, and a tot park for the smaller kids with wlswings, slides, see-saws and so forth. The park borders courtland avenue. And on that border during the warmer months and even the not so warmer months that side of the park is littered with 2 dozen members of the local society that couldn't care less that they are by a park. They smoke (weed and cigarettes), they drink, they stay out all night.... and occasionally they fight (big surprise there) just 2 maybe 3 years ago a lady was pushing her child in a carriage when a stray bullet caught her and killed her.... right across from there. Now not to be a jerk, stuff like that happens everywhere or can happen anywhere... but it's just more common around there. Grew up on that block and still am there a whole lot more than I'd like to... so my advice, don't go there unless you have no choice. It's a craphole. No matter how much they...
