BEWARE! RUINED HAIR. LOSS $418. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON, SUNNY OR YAYAN, FOR HAIR BLEACHING! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. PLEASE SEE PICTURES.
First-time customer. I went in for a simple root bleach touch-up and highlights, which I’ve done many times before without issues. However, everything went wrong from the moment I walked in. I had scheduled my appointment a week in advance, and over the phone, I was quoted $250-275 for the touch-up. When I arrived, they told me the price would be $380-400. There was no transparency about the pricing, and I was on a tight timeline for a work conference in two weeks. I reluctantly agreed to the price, but it was already clear this salon doesn’t care about honesty or customer trust.
The problems started when Sunny began the bleaching process. I should’ve known something was off when the bleach felt too hot on my scalp. I’ve had my hair bleached many times, and it’s never felt this uncomfortable. The foil was left on too long, and Sunny didn’t notice the bleach was becoming too harsh. By the time he removed it, a significant amount of hair had thinned out and fell out easily. I went in with thick, waist-length hair, but by the end, 70% of it was gone, and what remained was dry and brittle. My hair felt completely ruined, and no one seemed to care.
The color was the worst part. I asked for a simple root touch-up, but it was a complete disaster. The bleach didn’t lift evenly, and I ended up with blotchy sections of hair. The root area turned bright, brassy orange, while the rest had uneven tones. I showed them a picture of a color I had loved, but they couldn’t replicate it. Despite multiple attempts, they couldn’t get it right, and no one took responsibility for the poor results. They wasted my time, my trust, and clearly don’t know what they’re doing with bleach.
They tried fixing the color with several toning attempts, but each one made it worse. The second attempt left sections with orange and brassy tones. I reluctantly agreed to a "milk tea" brown, but it was still uneven with sections showing brassy patches. At this point, I realized they were just guessing and didn’t actually have the skills to fix the mess they had created.
The entire process dragged on for 8 hours. I arrived at 11:00 AM, and by 7:00 PM, I was done. My hair was destroyed, the color was a mess, and I hadn’t received what I came for. Despite all the time and damage, they still charged me $418. I was furious and demanded compensation, but instead, they kept me waiting for 25 minutes, offering no real solution. They asked me to come back so they can fix it another day, giving my hair some time to "rest." I couldn’t believe the audacity. They ruined my hair, and now they wanted me to come back for more?
When it came time to pay, they didn’t provide a proper receipt. They gave me a handwritten one that didn’t match the amount I paid and was hard to read. How unprofessional can you get? It felt like they were just trying to cover up their mistakes and avoid any real accountability.
By the time I left, I was in tears. I am still in tears and have such low self-esteem now. I walked in expecting a simple touch-up, but left with ruined hair, and I had paid $418. I will never trust this salon again. I’m now left with damaged, uneven hair and forced to live with it. This salon doesn’t deserve your business. They clearly don’t care about customer satisfaction, and their lack of skill and professionalism is shocking.
I will NEVER recommend this salon. If you care about your hair, your time, or your money, please find a different salon. This place does not know how to handle bleach treatments, and the lack of professionalism and respect for customers is unacceptable. They never apologized. Save yourself the frustration and the heartache – avoid this place at all costs.

Read moreThis salon has several branches so if you are making an appointment through Instagram DM, make sure you specify which location from the start. I set up an appt with Britney on IG; she was professional and prompt with responses. She assumed I wanted the Flushing branch but I was closer to Bayside. This caused a slight delay in confirmation, but she was able to get a spot for the day and time that I requested. It was an easy and excellent process. Just know that MG (through Britney) will want you to leave a deposit via Venmo or Zelle to secure your appointment.
Huge caveat: if you are a new client and if you do not specify a stylist, you will be given the "low man on the totem pole" per se. Not necessarily a negative, but just be aware. I was not greeted with a friendly welcome when I arrived, but just an acknowledgement that I was the person who wanted the $200 service. Even before I was seated, I was questioned as to what I wanted to get done and then told that if I do not bleach, they cannot guarantee the color I wanted. I told them that was fine as long as they covered my grays and gave me a good cut.
The stylist who worked with me did an amazing job on the coloring part. However, he went a little rogue with the haircut. His skills aligned with his claim that he has 28 years experience; however, he took too much liberty on styling. I left with a hair style that was NOT what I asked for (even with a reference photo).
As a whole, the salon and service were lacking. The other two "veteran" stylists were self-absorbed and not too friendly. No one checked in on me during my 4 hours there. Hair was not cleaned off the floor. One stylist with trendy platinum hair was available for the majority of my time in the salon; yet MG did not assign him to me (a new customer) to try to build their client base. Perhaps I was not within the age-frame like those who request multi-hued coloring jobs, so I was deemed unworthy. Too bad - I would have proven to be a loyal customer. No one thanked me or said goodbye when I left. That doesn't require training - that's just good manners and smart business...
Read moreI was so excited to get my hair done, as it's been years since I've gotten it professionally dyed and I got recommended this place by two people I know. I made the appointment on Instagram where I was required to pay a deposit. The day of my appointment I walked in and they had no idea what I was coming in for and didn't even ask for my name so honestly what was the deposit for? I told them I made the appointment via Instagram and website and explained to them what I wanted and showed them a picture of what I wanted twice. I told them in advance my hair was previously dyed so they knew and they told me it may not match exactly but it'll be "close" so I believed them. They explained the process to me but it's not what ended up happening and they grew silent as the process went on. What they did was bleach my hair three separate times and then give up and style and cut it and call it a day, no dye or anything. The guy told me to not dye my hair red anymore because it's too hard to get out. It wasn't red, it was brassy from the bleach that needed toner. In the pictures Is what I wanted vs what I got. Completely different and way too light which is absolutely not what I wanted. I messaged the account to express my disappointment and they offered to fix it for free and I waited several hours for them to respond so I just went to the store, bought box dye and attempted to fix the mess myself. My poor hair is fried from all the bleach and it wasn't even worth it. Another client was complaining while I was there that they messed up her color on previously dyed hair too. Maybe this place is only good with virgin hair because apparently they are color blind when it comes to dye on dye. I wouldn't have minded If it was close but it absolutely wasn't. My hair was darker when I went in and was closer to what I wanted than it was when I left. Will absolutely not be returning to "fix for free" when it should have been done right or close to right in the...
