DISHONESTY IS THE WORST POLICY. I came in wanting a gel manicure but was told my nails are too weak and I need UV gel which is almost $90 with proper tip. I was very honest and mentioned that’s a bit pricey for me as I’m very low maintenance and would prefer something easier and a LOT more natural. After talking above me to another staff member in another language and laughing they finally came up with a solution to offer me a “cheap” kind of gel that’s not going to last as long as UV gel. Fine I said ok and was happy to have something naturally looking done. As the nail tech began doing my nails she made it a point to mention “I don’t do these kind of nails just so you know but I will this one time. I only do UV gel. But no problem” I felt uncomfortable and just thanked her as much as I could for going out of her way. I have to mention I am very low maintenance and am always a happy person and very agreeable. We went on and she mentioned it a few more times and told me a few other things such like to make me feel bad to be having this “cheaper” service done. Which actually was $65 plus I left her a $13 dollar tip. I am not a cheap person and also attain a great position in the medical field whereas I am fortunate to be able to pay with no issues. The point was that I wanted a very natural look and very thin not thick as UV or any hard gels. I would’ve paid the same as UV gel for anything that would achieve that, honestly. So fine, I leave and kinda realized my nails were thick and also very crooked. I decided to keep them the way they were and just decide that next time I will just be very honest and ask for a simple gel manicure even if they tried to steer me away. 3 weeks pass and I actually decided to give them another chance and go back. So I called first to explain exactly what I want and make an appointment. They yes me to death on the phone and when I get there it starts to become an issue again they don’t think I should get a gel manicure and now they have me sit and 5 employees surround me making me feel like what I’m asking for is impossible and why don’t I want UV gel. At this point I’m so upset inside and what’s very out of character for me, I get up and tell them never mind I’d like to leave. They were all in shock and one lady put her hand on my arm and was like where are you going don’t leave. It actually was the most horrible experience I’ve had at a nail salon. DONT GO UNLESS YOU ARE HAVING UV GEL DONE!!!!! And I’m Sure you’ll be fine. The nail industry has gotten so tainted that they don’t even want to provide simple services such as manicures or gel manicures. So...
Read moreThe only time I’ve had to leave a salon without service because of incompetence, unrepentantly poor service, and intentional “misleading.” I booked an appt for Gel-X and specified the style, shape, and length I wanted. I was assured the salon had the supplies and the tech I was assigned was proficient. None of that was true.
I arrived on time for my appt but was left in the soak off foils for over 30 minutes while the tech took walk-in clients.
Then when the tech started to work on my nails, I noticed the shape looked a bit off, so I looked at the box of gel extensions and they were extra long, stiletto, flat. I booked for and verbally confirmed in person that I wear medium, almond, sculpted. Two different techs searched their stock and what I needed wasn’t there. Despite them having assured me it was, upon my arrival.
Instead, I was told it would “look the same” despite being different in every possible iteration.
After a wasted 90 minutes, I paid for my soak-off ($11) and left without any compensation or sincere apology.
I would avoid this place entirely. Unscrupulous, unskilled,...
Read moreI’ve been going to the salon since December of last year and it’s so unfortunate that I have to leave this review. This was a $60 pedicure. Let’s start with there. My normal pedicure with callus remover is $38 and I added two acrylic on my big toes and that brought my total to $61 without design. I was taken back by that price, but the work is done. This pedicure was done 07/26 and today is 07/29 and as you see in the photo, my nail already chipped polish, and this is gel!!!! I am a hairstylist so I wear sneakers at work. I wore sandals two times this week and now I have to get this nail fixed..
Also, the application on the big toe of polish has a chunk at the bottom because she barely cut any cuticle Or shaped the acrylic!! It’s unfortunate because I come from the Bronx and It takes me two hours to see get to the salon and two hour back but its just not worth the...
