It's a hole in the wall that you could walk by and never think twice about but I wanted to try something other than BayRidge sushi (which is good too). I rolled the dice and found their food is REALLY good. Tried their ginger scallion shrimp lunch bento 🍱 and the shrimps were seasoned perfectly. Really flavorful and peppery. California rolls were good. The fried shumai were good but probably premade. The picture was taken after some of it was eaten. Oops. Miso soup (not shown) was great. Very hearty tasting. NOTE: if you're Asian you will prefer shrimps with the shells ON. BUT the downside is you fingers get messy. Unfortunately their bathroom isn't really set up for public use. You can ask for it to be removed but it won't be as tasty. Bring wet wipes.

Best sushi EVER. Unfortunately my wife and I moved to Florida but we used to live just 4 blocks away from this place in Bay Ridge. We ate it about twice a month and not once did they ever disappoint. One time they even gave me free mochi since it was my birthday which was rather kind of them. I haven’t had good sushi since moving to Florida yet but when we do travel to New York, we make sure to go and indulge. Speaking of that, we’ll be there this upcoming Friday and my mouth is already watering. Just look at the beautiful photo! Update: came back after a year and it’s still the best sushi! Talked with the owner for a bit since I hadn’t seen them in so long and they gave me fried cheesecake also!

The small restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They serve Japanese cuisine. The restaurant is primarily a takeout with several tables for dining in. I ordered two bento boxes. Each bento box includes soup, salad, white rice, California roll, three shumai, shrimp and vegetable tempura and choice of an entree. I ordered the fried oysters and salmon teriyaki entrees. Everything was well-prepared with generous portions. The takoradi appetizer were fried octopus balls served with a dipping sauce. Friendly and quick service.

Hidden Gem: Exceptional Sushi and Service at Okinawa Sushi

Is located in a cozy corner of Bay Ridge Avenue, may be small in size but it packs a big punch when it comes to quality sushi and impeccable service.

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted warmly by the Linda and her staff, who are not only attentive but also genuinely passionate about sushi. Their knowledge and enthusiasm shine through as they guide you through the menu and recommend their specialties.

The ambiance is intimate and inviting, perfect for a quiet meal or a cozy dinner with friends. The decor is minimalistic yet tasteful, allowing the focus to remain on the star of the show: the sushi.

What sets Okinawa Sushi, however, is their outstanding service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every dining experience is memorable. They are attentive without being intrusive, anticipating your needs before you even realize them. Make sure to give it a try—you won't be...

Okinawa is a small family run spot in Bay Ridge. Not only do they make the best Japanese food but they make the best overall food in the neighborhood. Their personable and great hospitality services makes you feel right at home as if you are part of their Okinawa family. The ambience of the restaurant is quaint and familial, making it the perfect setup for the food they are about to make. You cannot go wrong with any dish you choose from, my personal favorite is the chicken dumpling soup. The owner makes sure to remember all her customers’ names and faces… that effort alone makes you want to keep coming back. I strongly recommend coming to Okinawa and enjoying a meal for yourself at this wonderful gem of...
