This is my second time there, which means I actually liked them the first time and came back However this time was rather disappointing. It's safe to say I will be looking for a different massage place. Here's a few things I don't like, just for your reference: For groupon user, they have this very weird rule about charging extra $4 taxes, which I never heard about for my previous experience using Groupon for other business. When I called in the reception lady told me I can "return" my Groupon order and instead pay directly in store. They will give me the same price and without the extra 4 bucks. So my question would be, why bother doing campaign with Groupon in the beginning.
their stuff there are really weird when it comes to tips. I have been there once and I know their "no tips under $10/person disregarding how much the massage cost" rule. It's a bit absurd, but I liked the massage last time, so I didn't mind. This time the masseurs actually followed us out and stand by the counter wait to see how much we tip, not just showing us out, but actually standing there to make sure we tip him enough. Both me and my boy friend felt very awkward.
the arrangement of masseurs is a bit weird too. For a couple massage they send 1 male and 1 female masseurs. The guy went directly to me but upon my request, he switched place with the other lady to massage my bf instead. Not being sexist toward this profession, but the Spa should let us know beforehand that it will be performed by a male masseurs, especially considering the fact that customers will be massaged in just their UNDERWEAR! To be honest I'm not even comfortable with another male in the room while I'm getting massaged.
The door was opened by someone by mistake during the massage, one staff who might assume the room is not being used. This brings back my point that they need to pay more attention to customers' privacy, like knock when you are unsure or lock the door in middle of the session, and more important, check with the FEMALE customer before they get undressed whether they are ok with a MALE masseurs
Last one is just pure unprofessional. The 2 masseurs started chatting a bit in the middle of the session, not for long just a few minutes. But definitely not work-related chatting.
I'm giving this 2 star instead of one, because the lady masseurs helping me was quite nice. I didn't enjoy the massage she gave, but when I told her it's cold in here, she went to got...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought a couples massage on groupon. The front desk receptionist was really nice. Other reviews state that this place is clean. I however feel like it could be cleaner. The bathroom had a bar soap as hand soap (for everyone to use which is very unsanitary). My masseuse had her very baggy shirt over my back continuously which tickled and felt a bit uncomfortable. Both masseuses also did not target the areas we asked for. I left feeling very irritated. My masseuse did not seem like she knew what she was doing. She doesnt know the body, the pressure points, how to accurately pull your joints. She kept rubbing my butt harshly which made me super uncomfortable and irritated even after I told her to stop. Both masseuses had a few conversations with each other in a different language, which, if they do not speak English thoroughly thats of course fine, but if someone is expressing their discomfort and you two break out into a conversation in a different language completely dismissing my discomfort, that is cause for my irritation. The girl even opened the window where there was nothing but noise going on outside. I thought she opened a door the way it was so loud. We still tipped, even though I did not want to because the massage was truly horrible. I do not recommend it here, it was an hour of them using their forearm to massage our back and dig their thumb into our necks. We stayed face down the entire 60 minutes which was odd considering this was supposed to be a full body massage. They also charge you an extra $5 per person when using a groupon and they donāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read more$90 for a 60 minute couples massage. A bit alarmed that they require a $15/masseuse tip for a $90 massage (that's almost a 34% tip...). However, with how cheap the base massage is, we paid it. Whatever. We also arrived for our 1pm appointment on time and weren't shown to our room until 1:15pm, with no apology extended. Our massage then didn't start until 1:30, again, no apology. If I wasn't so post-massage spacey, I probably would have denied the additional tip for that reason alone. As for the facilities - clean enough, however it smelled of cigarettes. Thankfully, our treatment room didn't. Not a standard massage bed, it was a flat bed with a round pillow for your face. The massage - Good pressure, and they checked in with us regularly if it was ok/too hard. My fiance's masseuse walked on his back, which he loved. It was mostly a (good) back massage with a little attention paid to our arms and legs. Unfortunately there was no flip over and our front wasn't massaged. I was really looking forward to my chest and stomache being massaged as well as the fronts of my legs and arms. However, there was an unexpected hot stone session worked in, which was really nice. Overall, now that we know what it is, I think we would go back. Inexpensive and got some kinks in my...
