Completely surprised by the authenticity of this place. Very fresh food. Amazing service, with a smile. They even have the Japanese style tables where you have to remove your shoes and sit low to the ground. 1st time I've actually seen this. Pineapple fried rice was outstanding and made Polynesian style, stuffed in a hollowed out whole pineapple. Yakitori was ordered after watching this food show on Netflix called Ugly Delicious. The chicken was tender as hell and delicious, ugly or not. Tuna Tataki was nice and fresh. Seared lightly and flavored with some unknown delicious sauce. The Paradise Roll we got was great but we definitely saved the most filling "fishy" dish for last and should have attacked that bad boy first. Because it was gargantuan. Shrimp tempura, avocado and spicy salmon inside.. white tuna and yellowtail on top with some orange sauce. Ill be back with the squad for the crispy duck nachos and I want that authentic table (call ahead for that!)

While walking/wandering along Queens Blvd looking for a dinner spot, we noticed Bamboo Ya on the other side of the 10 lanes. What a wonderful find! There are three different seating options: At the Sushi Bar, seated around Japanese-style tables, and a large, comfortable dining room. As soon as we sat down we were served hot green tea. We had two Bento Boxes: Chicken Yakitori and Pork Katsu. Each came with Miso Soup, Salad, California Roll, Rice, and we chose Gyoza & Shumai. Everything was excellent, the portions were generous (we both took leftovers home), and the service was friendly and attentive, thoroughly professional. We were even pleased with the spotless, well appointed, gender-neutral restroom. We are so glad to find such a gem in our neighborhood.

Convenient Japanese restaurant located in Rego Park Queens blvd. My fiancé and I came here after a massage to grab lunch. We always passed it but never got a chance to stop in. We were greeted at the door and opted for booth seating. The booths are horigotatsu type seating which are great for groups and gives a vibe of authenticity. The service was fast and friendly and the food was good, portions were hugee but yet very affordable! Couldn’t finish my bento box. I was told I could have had all tempura shrimp for $1 more ($12 instead of $11) instead of tempura veggies. Cold sake was good, my fiancé tried it for the first time and loved it. He also had the crispy duck, it was so good! we would definitely come here again!

So for starters, I’ve personally NEVER had a problem with this restaurant until a few months ago. My friend and I decided to eat there as regular costumers, and as we ordered our food we were given extra food that we have NOT ordered. We told our waitress this and she responded back with “Oh then just eat it free food!” and laughed assuming it was free since she never apologized or took it back to the kitchen and even told us it was free we ate it. We finally got our bill and questioned our waitress as to why they charged us the extra food, and she stated that because we ate it we must pay for it, even after we corrected her and told her we did not order it. So I gave in my card, in which they came back and told me their card machine was broken! I didn’t have cash on me that time and most PROFESSIONAL restaurants would usually give a free meal or a DISCOUNTED price because it was THEIR fault that their machine broke and DID NOT notify the costumers before hand. At the time I didn’t carry much cash, so what did they tell me to do? They screamed at me to RUN to the bank and get money. And I quote “THE CHASE BANK IS RIGHT AHEAD AND CROSS THE STREET SO GET YOUR MONEY AND PAY THE FOOD” so UNPROFESSIONAL!!! As a regular for 3 years this restaurant has disappointed me with their TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! And I hope the owner sees this review and look at the other reviews about their terrible service so they know to choose BETTER SERVERS WITH A BETTER ATTITUDE!!! Please choose more professional workers instead of rude ones. Thank you. So while their food may be good they lack SERIOUS RESPECT FOR THEIR COSTUMERS. Bambooyah in FOREST HILLS have better service and better...

Would give 0 but, yeah... I once ordered for delivery miso soup, seafood soup, California roll and something else. I don't know if it was an accident or what, but EVERYTHING I ordered smelled as a rotten fish (except cali roll). I thought maybe it's because I'm pregnant, I ate a few spoons of both soups, because I was so hungry. My husband came home, I asked him to try the food to see if it really is my pregnancy to blame and not the food, he said it was not edible and was surprised that I actually ate some of the soup. As a result I paid $22 for what went to the trash (except for the cali roll). Just wanna mention the reasons why I ordered food from Bamboo Ya: 1) It's 3 minutes of walk away from me 2) I needed something to eat asap and they were the closest and 3) I was so sick that I couldn't get out of my apartment and also I had the exact amount of money to pay off the order plus $2 for the tips. Long story short, the delivery guy asked me "is that it?" when I gave him $2 tips, but if I knew right then what a rotten food he has brought me not only wouldn't I give those $2, but also would ask back my $22. Ever since, I want to puke every time I see that Bamboo Ya sign on my way to the train station. Never again! This review is all over the place and a bit late, but very honest. If you want Japanese food, go to the real Japanese place where they serve fresh high quality food and not to the Chinese place...

I was looking forward to having a good meal here, but I am really disappointed and was unsatisfied with today’s lunch. This is few of the sushi restaurants I’ve eaten at and left feeling unsatisfied in a very long time. I was just thinking about coming to try it because it seemed popular with hundreds of ratings and a high rating overall. This place did not have a very calm, nice atmosphere where you would expect to enjoy a nice meal and the attitudes of the servers were not bad, but they weren’t friendly or polite either. The California roll and shrimp tempura roll were average, but the spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, and eel roll did not taste pleasant at all. The eel did not taste fresh and tasted different from every sushi restaurant I’ve eaten at and I eat sushi very often. For the tuna roll and salmon roll, I asked for crunch, but I didn’t get it. Their ginger did not taste right and was really dry- I don’t know something was off about it. I seriously don’t understand how this restaurant has so many high ratings. Never coming back and will always stick to my go-to sushi restaurant. Felt sick eating sushi here, which is...
