RACIST!!!!! THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS.

I bought a hair wash, deep condition and blowdry on Groupon and scheduled over the phone. As soon as I walked in for my appointment, I told Zeena that I had an 11am appointment. She asked if I was the Groupon customer for the wash, deep conditioning and blowdry. I said yes. She looked at me and said "I can't take you because you have CURLY HAIR." I was shocked and confused if I heard her correctly. She repeated that "We cannot do your hair because you have curly hair, and we do not have the tools to deal with curly hair." (The only "tools" needed for a blowdry is a blow dryer and a circular hairbrush. ANY HAIR SALON HAS THOSE TOOLS.) Appalled at what I was hearing, I replied that as a hair salon, she should have the tools to do all kinds of hair. She just said "yeah," and that was her only reply. She tried to justify saying this was an "Asian only salon," despite having Caucasian models on the walls and there is nothing stated anywhere that says it is an "Asian only, straight hair only salon" (By the way, my mom is Chinese.) Not to mention on the Groupon page, the business claims that they "specialize and offer all kinds of services of beauty and hair." The location of the salon is also literally a block away from a popular mall, where PEOPLE OF ALL ETHNICITIES SHOP.

I asked what I was supposed to do with the Groupon I already paid for, because she is refusing me as a customer. She said that I could just call Groupon and get a refund. She moved a jacket and keys off of a chair and told me to sit while I contacted Groupon to ask for the refund. I sat down and contacted them, telling a representative the situation.

THE GROUPON REPRESENTATIVE CHECKED THE POST AND CONFIRMED IT NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT REFUSING PEOPLE WITH CURLY HAIR. IT ONLY SAID "ADDITIONAL FEES MAY APPLY DEPENDING ON HAIR LENGTH; TEXTURE AND DENSITY." Which is reasonable, but I was flat out REJECTED BECAUSE OF MY TYPE OF HAIR.

This salon is extremely unprofessional and racist, this is beyond unacceptable for a supposed hair and beauty salon. Please do not come here if you have even a single curl on your head, because they will refuse to...

I purchased 2 vouchers for the New Queens Hair and Beauty Salon. Zeeena - the owner - did a decent job the first time. Had a second haircut on 10/28. Zeena butchered my hair!! I showed her photos of a few different cuts. She said that she could do the cuts.

My haircut looks nothing like the photo. Both sides and the back are uneven. One side is so short and choppy and does not match the other side of my head. One side long and the other side short. She was unable to layer my hair. Just chopped it unevenly. She did such a horrible job that I had to go to another hairdresser and pay to have it repaired. He said that he's never seen a haircut like it. Said that it doesn't look like a professional haircut. I have to say that this is the worst haircut that I've ever had in my life! I do a better job cutting my own hair!

I normally do not like leaving bad reviews because businesses are struggling. But I don't want another person to go through this. I am thankful my hair grows fast. I should have researched...

I Felt Fooled by the pictures and reviews. If you want to get proper professional people to do your hair and highlights please spend money on another salon preferably in the city. I came here for blonde highlights and a trim. After the bad experience I went to another salon and the lady told me my hair wasnt even cut properly from the back. The lady literally left the job leaving me sitting there after putting the foils in and didn't even tell me why or say bye and just left the store. Another woman came in to take out the foils and wash my hair. You are charging someone around $320 and more with tips and you left them sitting in the seat. My highlights came out choppy and horrible. The toner wasn't even put on properly or matched the color. The lady babita who came in afterwards is friendly but honestly they can't do highlights or a simple trim either. I paid the same price in the city and the highlights are beautiful. Don't be scared of salons in the city because they are charging the same...
