Oak Point has become a special place for my self-care and recovery after I suffered a work injury and sprained my ankle. I am so grateful to have found Oak Point. Christos is great to work with, in our first session there was a thorough survey and we discussed the issues I wanted to address in the initial appointment. It was my first time doing acupuncture, I am afraid of needles. Christos did fantastic. After the first session, I felt immediate relief in my ankle, foot, and leg. Christos also gave me some stretches and how to help improve the mobility of my ankle while on crutches. I must say that this place is fantastic, and Acupuncture is worth a shot! Thank you to everyone at Oak Point, you have helped me heal my injury.

Short review: This is hands down THE BEST health-related space (holistic, massage, doctor, hospital, etc.) I have ever stepped into, bar none. Even if you don't have a particularly urgent reason to come, I'm willing to bet you'll leave thinking 'I didn't even know I COULD feel THIS much better than I did before'.

The only thing you actually need to know: It's very clear that Anna and Dimitri have poured an abundance of love and passion and time into every aspect of their practice. I genuinely believe they get the most joy for themselves out of helping people and seeing the results of their work, and that alone makes this place stand out from any other health-related space I have been. I also trust they would never bring in a new person to work at Oak Point that was any less enthused, caring and attentive as they are. Also, I'm not lying when I say that while I'm in the room with them, I actually believe that MY health and comfort is literally the MOST important thing in the world.

What are other reasons you think this place is rad, @KathrynKuhn? Uhh. I'm so glad you asked -- cause I was just waiting to go into detail, google: Clean and calm environment. Water available in the waiting room, music is not too load/not too soft, reeeeeeally nice bathrooms(like.. the size of my room in my first NYC apartment). Every single person who works at Oak Point is the nicest person you've ever met. I want to be best friends with all of them (and I totally believe that I am, during my appointments). Everyone remembers your name and meet you with the calm serenity of a thousand monks. The 'bed side' manner is INCREDIBLE. I have never felt rushed, judged, or uncomfortable (and trust me, I'm a raaaaambling/interrupting/sarcastic/anxious/big personality person and I can never even tell when I'm annoying them at all one bit). Anything to do with sensitive areas of the body are handled with appropriate consent/privacy behavior. (And I teach consent for conscious dance parties!(they sounds so much worse that they are, you should try one))

Treatments I have experienced: I can really only speak specifically to working with Dimitri as far as my treatments (though Robyn has been in the room with Dimitri several times and she's MUH GURL). --- Cupping - Honestly - cupping left me feeling better ALL AROUND for like... two weeks straight. I felt cleaner, more energetic, less 'scrunched up' in my body. I just like... want to be cupped all the time now. Everyday. --- Sports Acupuncture - Dimitri has done several different things with needles and crazy electrical wires (it's NOT scary) that move my muscles ways where I magically leave in ZERO pain, having walked in 45 minutes earlier in pretty bad pain (for me). I've NEVER had that happen before, you know, walking out of somewhere ACTUALLY 100% CURED. --- Blue Light mask thingy -- I don't know if it's the acupuncture finally kicking in for this symptom or if it is the blue light itself or a combo of both, but since Dimitri started putting this light over me during my appointments, my hormonal period acne has start decreasing quite a bit, it's currently still there cause it's pretty bad - but has noticeably decreased from last month to this month (and I've only been doing acupuncture for like... 2 months or so). I'm only upset I didn't account acupuncture into my schedule/budget/life 10 years ago.

In conclusion: It is my opinion that these people are actual, literal, real and alive angel-healers that have fallen to earth with healing in their hands and kindness in their hearts and beauty on their faces. And if nothing else I've detailed makes you want to give this place a try, then just think to yourself... how many places incite a young woman to spend 33 minutes writing a POSITIVE google review so more people can enjoy the...

I never write or read reviews because I know that for every great one there is sure to be a bad one for any doctor, restaurant, etc. I usually go by word-of-mouth recommendations, and in the case of Oak Point Health, I was told that Dimitri and the facility changed someone's life and that was all I needed to hear and why I must also spread the word. I suffered all summer with dizziness and lightheadedness -- seeing doctor after doctor, having an MRI, changing medications, inner ear testing -- but with only two acupuncture sessions my life has totally turned around: no more dizziness, much more relaxed, a new lease on life you can say. The staff is great, the facility is calming and Dimitri's bedside manner is unique in that you feel like he truly cares and believes that he can cure whatever ails you. And in this case, he has. And the reasonably priced sessions are not open ended; I was already told that in just a few more sessions I should be done with future maintenance only if I choose. Is acupuncture for everyone? That's not for me to say. What I can tell you is that it's working for me and if you are considering acupuncture, I highly recommend Oak Point. UPDATED REVIEW ON FEBRUARY 3, 2021 In addition to my dizziness which I reference above, as a man in his 60s, I was alarmed when my PSA (prostate) number came in at 6.7 after a recent blood test during my annual physical. (The range should be between 0-4 on average.) My general practitioner suggested seeing a urologist, which I did, and the number again came back at 6.1, above what it should be. I was told that I needed to come in for one more check in a month's time, and if the number stayed the same or rose even higher, a biopsy might be in order. I was told of the details of the biopsy and trust me, it hardly sounded like fun. I thought that if Oak Point Health and Dr. Dimitri could cure me of my dizziness, why not give my prostate a go. We scheduled a few sessions prior to my next appointment, and during those appointments we not only treated the dizziness, but in tandem Dr. Dimitri performed electroacupuncture, targeting the prostate area. I wasn't certain that it would work — I'm a firm believer of “I'll believe it when I see it!” — but it was sure worth a try. Well, my PSA number came back after these sessions at 4!!! — two points lower than what it had been and certainly within range. I couldn't have been more ecstatic and was thrilled to share the news with Dr. Dimitri. With Dr. Dimitri's experience, know-how and professionalism, you can pretty much believe that he can cure just about anything. He is truly a...

I was so disappointed by my experience here. I've read so many great reviews, and I wanted to buy my wife and daughter massages as part of their mother's day plans.

But no one would even reply to me. So went all the way to the place in person, and the front desk person basically shooed me away immediately and made no effort to help.

They demanded my child set up her own account where they could contact her directly with offers, despite the fact that she's a minor. And they wouldn't even let me pay for and make the mother's day appointment for my wife so it could stay a surprise. They would only let me give her a gift card and let her make an appointment herself, which of course then wouldn't happen on the day.

The whole experience was disappointing.

UPDATE: The reply here is full of falsehoods and half-truths. The child in question was WITH me at the time. And I 100% identified her as a minor and stated that was my objection to the policy.

Saying I walked out without receiving an explanation of the policy is also a lie. The policy was explained and I said only that it was unusual, but if that's the policy what could be arranged to simply buy two massages but keep them a surprise for mothers day. I could barely get the question out before I was dismissed with a curt "sorry" and a refusal to make eye contact. I even asked, are we through? I was still hoping to book something. But that was again barely out of my mouth when I was met with a gesture towards the door and a curt "sorry."

As to the 10pm email that wasn't replied to, please don't pretend there wasn't time to reply. I had previously left a phone message that went unanswered. Then when the email went unanswered all morning, I showed up mid afternoon the next day. The place was empty. No clients. And the (I guess owner) was absently reading. When mentioned that I had emailed, she said something like 'oh yeah, I saw that. We don't do that.' Apparently there was no sense that it might be worth replying to say that. It could have at least saved me a trip.

I'm sure the treatments must be amazing, otherwise no one would put up with a small business owner who demands to be treated like a dignitary.

Downgrading the review to 1 star, for the sheer volume...
