I’ve had this café bookmarked since it opened. So, when they were recently featured in a Time Out article, I made a point to go this past weekend.
Pumpkin cakes: We purchased the pack containing one dozen of these. We ate them up real quick! loved that it’s made from real pumpkins. I saw that they had a small steamer behind the counter and were cooking pieces of pumpkin. They are shaped like pumpkins and look so cute. There’s a bit of pumpkin paste in the middle and a few pumpkin seeds on the outside. Not overpoweringly sweet. I regret not buying another dozen to bring to the office.
Regular bingsoo: This came as a huge portion! It was topped with a thin pumpkin cookie that went very well with this cold dessert. I liked the texture of the shaved ice—it had a snow-like texture but was a bit bland. Luckily, the toppings of vanilla ice cream, mochi, red bean and pumpkin cookie was enough to make this dessert interesting.
Coffee Americano: Strangely, this coffee was lukewarm when we got it. I like my coffee to be piping hot so I found this to be very strange. Otherwise, it was fine.
The café is very cute and vibe is welcoming. I’m glad I checked it out and will be back soon to try some of their other...
Read moreHad a Mother’s Day brunch there. Dishes that are freshly made like the waffles are good. But do not order the waffles hot dogs with meat in it. I first ordered the mozzarella and ham waffles hot dog for our 3 year old and I tried it first to make sure he doesn’t get burned from the hot mozzarella in there, and when I tasted and smelled it the ham is rancid, clearly smelled off. But my son really wanted one so I ordered a different pork hot dog waffle hot dog, hoping it’s gonna be ok. Saw them took the premade one from the fridge in the back. When it arrived I wanted make sure it’s ok. So I took the first bite and immediately I tasted and smell the hot dog is off too. We didn’t care for any refund, obviously we didn’t eat it and before I throw it away, I went to the side and told the older lady who I think she might be the owner that both the waffles hot dogs with pork (ham and hot dog) are off and they should double check these before they served it to anyone else. But she got really defensive and mad and put her hand up in my face and told me NO NO NO it’s impossible. I was shocked at the time that she became so confrontational and defensive when I’m just trying to alert them to a food safety issue for...
Read moreThis place is your rare 11/10 small business. They have EXCEPTIONAL desserts that are handcrafted and taste homemade but with a touch of elegance.
When you walk into the store you're surrounded by the immaculate, cozy vibes that have been specially cultivated by the sweet store owner (who also cooks the food herself). This is as close as it will ever get to feeling like you're inside an Animal Crossing video game type cozy.
The owner is very personable and friendly. She joyously greets everyone, and can't wait to see new faces. She takes pride in the quality and appearance of her food, so it's IG pic aesthetic but with flavor to write about!!
If it stopped there it'd be a perfect 10, but the desserts don't leave you bloated or tired either despite using all the syrup in her cute cups that come with the waffles. For everything else mentioned, and that cherry on top: this place is easily my only 11/10 dessert stop. Must try to know...
