I’ve always walked by this place on my way from work - it had a cool vibe to it. When the next team drinks came up, I suggested Cedar Local. I’ve called and made reservations, leaving payment information as we were a large group. The day of the team event we were all excited to check the new venue out. As 12 of us as entered the place the waitress pleasantly greeted us, however was confused that there was no reservation under my name and immediately ran to the manager. Now as you can imagine, there is no way a group of dozen individuals go into a random bar downtown during holiday season demanding a spot to have some drinks - reservations we made and confirmed. The manager denied that any reservations were made - even after I showed the venue’s number in my phone log (and with whom I definitely spoken to). Rudely treated our group stating “there’s nothing I can do, you might as well leave”. We were basically kicked out!
Regardless whether it was a reservation mistake - This not how a business should be run nor how potential customers...
Read moreThis place is expensive for what it is worth and usually very loud. The last time I was there, I ordered from the bar, the bartender told me the beer was $5. The rest of the group I was with ordered drinks and food from the waitress. The waitress snuck in to start taking my drink orders and included me on the group bill. She charged me for a $3, 10oz seltzer, charged me $9 for two beers each (even though the bartender said $5), and tax was added on (which is unusual when you pay that much for a beer). The total came to $23 with tax, and then the waitress charged me $5 for gratuity, which again, I was not part of the group and puts the gratuity at about 22% on two beers. Personally, I try to avoid this place, due to the expensiveness and inconsistency of the servers (one time I was there I ordered a Montauk beer on tap and the waitress brought me the Montauk can 3 times in a row) but unfortunately, it's the closest bar to work so sometimes it's...
Read morePlace was not crazy busy for the St. Patty's Day weekend and we scored seats at the bar for some cocktails. Great music and drinks but our Bartender was rude AF. He acted bothered from the start. I asked about what was in a specific drink and he suggested we were wrong although we actually weren't. He then proceeded to ask how I liked my drink and when I said with vodka generally he rudely replied "That's not what I asked you!" Then proceeded to pepper me with questions on whether I wanted it sweet or salty etc... I just went with a martini to avoid further abuse. I could see if I was rude to begin with or because it was slammed but it was completely uncalled for. We left after just onen round of cocktails and warned other friends in the area not to bother. Unfortunate.. as we might have spent some money here but definitely won't now. As it was it was $40 before tip for 2 cocktails that were super small and came with a side of bad...
