We used to love this place, but after three separate times of buying steak from Paisanos, only to find it spoiled the same day, we’re officially done. The spoilage was very obvious from both the color and the smell, and honestly, it was pretty disgusting.
We shop at a butcher because we expect fresh, high-quality meat. After the first time, we gave them the benefit of the doubt. After the second and third, there’s no excuse. There are too many great butchers in the area to keep giving chances.
If you do shop here, make sure to thoroughly inspect your meat before you leave. It’s been incredibly frustrating to plan dinner and then have to scramble for a last-minute replacement.
EDIT: Thanks for your response, but I find it disappointing that there's no acknowledgment or accountability for what actually happened. You say you offer the “best” and stand by your quality, but at the end of the day, we were sold spoiled meat—not once, but three separate times. That’s not a question of customer error or inspection; that’s on your end.
Customers shouldn’t have to inspect their meat like detectives before walking out the door—that’s your job. You should be ensuring what you're selling is fresh, especially as a premium butcher.
What’s more frustrating than the spoiled product is your dismissive response. No apology, no indication of wanting to do better, just a deflection. That’s not what good customer service looks like. There are plenty of other butchers in the neighborhood that take pride not just in their product but also in how they treat their customers. I won’t be back—and I’ll be sure to let others know about...
Read moreThe meat itself was fine. No real complaints there. Just not pleased about the online ordering process.
I ordered something and even prepaid for it online weeks in advance, and when I arrived they didn't have the quantity that I requested. It was close, but not quite the full amount. Off by about 10%, and I was told it was because they just didn't have the amount I had prepaid for, and preordered for. So it means that even though I pre ordered and pre paid for what I wanted, it wasn't actually set aside for me and instead I just got whatever was there that day. This was tough because I was planning a very large dinner party and needed somewhere reliable. I was refunded the difference, but that wasn't the problem. The guy helping me didn't act like this was anything out of the ordinary, he basically seemed like this was quite common.
So my recommendation is you can go there and pick up meat and the quality and everything should be fine, but their pre order process is not reliable and I would not trust them to have with 100% certainty the item you have already paid for.
Edit: updated my review after the response from from the butcher shop. It was not just the usual 1-2 % difference you see all the time, so added clarity around there.
Again to reiterate the problem, it's not the 10% drop in expected vs actual. I can deal with 10%. It's the fact that if someone else had walked in and ordered my item, they would have given it to them and I would have had even less than 90% of what I wanted. There was no apparent process of matching my pre order and pre payment to actually reserving the...
Read moreI ordered a whole big for a special event. I was charged to different prices. I paid it thinking I would be able to come back after my event and clear things up. It did not happen. They are crooks!!! They over charged me about 75.00 dollars.
I see all the excellent and very good reviews but they are from the general public. I have experience in the meat market business. I family has 6 meet markets in the early 80s. The food products are good but when meat markets prepare food in advance it to hide the fact the meat was going bad. They make it look good but that is how meat markets extend the life of meat by seasoning it. Supermarkets do exactly the same. Never buy meat that it is prepared in advance.
The meat market industry is generally dishonest. Paisanos Meat Markets showed me they are no different. They are crooks!!!
Also keep in mind, there are reasons why you cannot see over the counter. It is designed that way. Google how a meat markets cheats its customer. You will see and learn how to protect yourself from Paisanos Meat Market. They are not your friends. They are undercover crooks with smiles.
