Initial review (3/2023) Yes, I've truly LOVED waking up to this intense construction for years now. How is this building literally always under construction??? The building management has also ignored my emails regarding pet-friendly quiet spaces. When I called the office, whoever picked up suggested to me that I could always do my work in the dog run....
Update to my initial review (7/31/2023): the decibels reading in my apartment continue to meet and even exceed 80 decibels, which is dangerous especially for prolonged times. Additionally, we are unable to use our own kitchen, which directly faces the breezeway, due to the constant dangerously high noise levels and vibrations. Taking a sick day at home is basically out of the question since there's no way to rest up in such a stressful environment. Which goes to say that working from home in this building is also impossible, since you cannot conduct a single work meeting without construction noises blaring in the background.
Despite this, the building management continues to respond with, in my opinion, empty statements of them caring about community here. But in my opinion, community care is about caring about residents, especially when they raise health concerns due to dangerous noise levels.
For any prospective tenant: I do NOT recommend Parker Towers. Management will, in my opinion, not be transparent when it comes to construction levels, remedies, and slated completion dates. It is also my opinion that the recent 5 star reviews here are not entirely trustworthy, due to several interactions I've had involving maintenance staff and them asking tenants to post a five star review specifically about their work on the Parker Towers review pages, not a separate review page for them. Take from that what you will. Update - 1/16/2024
When will this construction stop? As you can see from the dates on this post alone, the unbearable noise levels have lasted since last March, and we are still having to endure these unhealthy construction noise levels, even on days when we tenants have to work from home, stay home to recover when we're sick, etc. Meanwhile, no one in management can give us a firm date on when the construction will end - whenever we ask, we get vague answers from management like, "You can check your email to see when construction on your floor for this week will be loudest." There is no transparency as to when it will all actually end.
Update - 10.10.2024
Construction near our apartment has resumed again. We keep being woken up by it. It literally...
Read moreI have been living at Parker Towers for a little over a year after living in Manhattan for a life time. I must say the buildings are kept very clean and there is never a time you donât see one of the staff members cleaning. The guys that work at Parker Towers work so hard all the time and they have wonderful dispositions. In my experience they have all been helpful and have gone beyond the call of duty. If you need something done, the office workers are also incredibly helpful and will see to it that your problem is addressed as soon as possible. You are never chasing or looking for someone to give you the help you need. If you do run into problems, or are not happy about something, the office staff is always there for you and ready to resolve your issue. An added benefit is that they are a kind bunch of staff members that will always work with you. Each building, there are 3, have 480 units in them. I must give the most credit to the doormen. Everyday they have to deal with many different kinds of personalities and not once have I ever seen them lose it. They are extremely friendly, helpful and have a lot of responsibility on them. We donât have a mailroom and somehow with all these doorman have to address, they still make sure packages are organized and given to the correct tenants. Parker Towers has an in house grocery delivery service, they acknowledge all holidays and include a 9/11 tribute and just recently had a get together in memory of those who suffered from Covid-19. There are summer activities on the big lawn as well as a dog park. Parker Towers is a very humble integrated place to live. Iâve enjoyed my experience here. My only complaint, and why I didnât give it 5 stars is because the inside of the buildings could use a face lift. As I mentioned, they are kept very clean but itâs a flashback from the 70âs which I would love to see updated. For those looking for buildings with gyms, we have that. There is also parking and we have a security guard that walks the grounds at night. The buildings are near busy Austin street which have plenty of restaurants and shops. You are also near subways as well as the LIRR. To sum this up, I really feel what makes Parker Towers special are the staff members that run the buildings. Canât say enough good things about them, they are beyond kind...
Read moreParker Towers continues to advertise a lush, green dog run â even posting about it as recently as today (7/14/2025) â but that space has been closed since January 2025 and replaced with a much smaller area of fenced in concrete. Thereâs no green space left on property for dogs at all â everything else is fenced off or locked.
The âtemporaryâ run is rushed and poorly designed: its uneven so it doesn't drain properly, has been painted with a beige waterproof sealant that allows urine and water pool to on the surface, despite the illusion of it's color still gets dangerously hot with no shade, and has already begun to peel just days after opening on July 11th. This is their second failed temporary run; the first was shut down after residents raised the same concerns.
The permanent new, concrete dog run (promised for Memorial Day 2025) has been delayed to the fall, yet the childrenâs playground in the same shared space opened on time. Meanwhile, the dog run they continue to advertise remains locked and unusable â adding insult to injury by showcasing a space they deny residents, without explanation.
Theyâve continued promoting the closed dog run on social media with posts on Instagram and Facebook on: 3/31/2025, 4/25/2025, 5/23/2025, 5/28/2025, 6/23/2025, and today, 7/14/2025 â despite knowing itâs been closed since January.
When residents raised these concerns, management claimed they are âbalancing the diverse needs of the communityâ and that our feedback âraises valid questionsâ and is âimportant as we continually review our facilities.â Yet their actions tell a different story: residents who speak up are blocked on social media, and the replies we get are vague, polished statements that avoid accountability and never address or answer the real issues.
Under New York law (GBL §§âŻ349 &âŻ350), continuing to advertise an amenity thatâs been closed for months while charging pet fees and promoting âpet-friendlyâ living could be considered false advertising and a deceptive business practice. So if youâre thinking of moving here, take a closer look â the reality doesnât match the promises, or even the words in their...
