I'm not sure if the OWNER of this gym is even concerned about any issues. There are always broken machines that are not getting fixed. I mostly come for the rowing machines; however, in the past two years, they have been broken. I guess it's too hard to invest 200$ in the new rowing machine (getting both of them fixed might be a financial disaster for the owner). The next thing is tanning. Well, itās been two years, again, since they are constantly one or both of the tanning booths are broken. And that's only one part of the problem. I highly suggest the owner finally change the tanning lamps. Otherwise, I will officially file a complaint to the Department of Health commissioner for the PHL non-compliance with section 72.-1.9:
(10) Defective or burned-out ultraviolet lamps or filters shall be replaced with a type compatible for use in that device as specified on the product label on the ultraviolet radiation device, or as recommended by the manufacturer.
(d) Sanitation.
(1) Ultraviolet radiation devices and protective eyewear shall be cleaned and then sanitized with an adequate disinfectant after each use; protective eyewear shall be cleaned and then disinfected with an adequate disinfectant after each use.
We have no chairs or anything in the tanning booth for personal belongings. There are no sanitizing sprays or anything like that available for cleaning. Not to mention, guests have to clean everything ourselves with regular gym-cleaning alcohol sprays (if, of course, available).
The Total Enchantment, or whatever is called machine, has been broken forever, noone is using it. Rip
The overall cleanliness is disgusting, the restrooms are dirty, and everything requires repair or replacement.
I can list additional misconducts here, but will see if there will be any changes first next month. If nothing is going to change, my friends and I, who are gym regulars here, will be starting to file official complaints. And Mr. Owner, as a legislative associate, I do know how to make a proper valid complaint. Please pay attention to your gym and start making it look like one. Better to keep an eye on and maintain it in a good place than see how it all falls apart in one shot.
And one pretty important thing to point out here. NONE OF THIS IS THE STAFF FAULT! The guys who work there are amazing, pleasant, and extremely hardworking. The problem is they are clearly understaffed because how can you possibly manage everything if only 2-3 people are working a shift there? Ridiculous.
P.S. FIX THE AC SYSTEM. People literally have to work out in this summer heat with no air conditioning system. What the hell?????? Iāll start making videos and photos and collecting feedback from other members for complaintsā evidence unless it will be fixed. And don't respond under this review with a request to contact you directly. Fix the issues. Other members' reviews below, myself included, have addressed concerns pretty clearly. The only person I will be contacting is the commissioner if all the misconducts are not going to get fixed. If you see this review as an entity - then it must be you to contact the owner or whoever is responsible for all this. It is not professional to inquire your visitors to complete all these unnecessary actions as you did in your previous review responses. In case you haven't noticed, not a single concern from my peer reviewers has been addressed so far. If the only solution here is to file official complaints - then this is the way.
P.P.S. From the PF response under my review, you can clearly notice that they donāt even read it. Iām not going to waste my time and sending you emails, Planet Fitness social, it is your duty to respond to the reviews by the real actions. Iām contacting the doh instead. Thank you for...

The color purple and the shiny machines have a very nice feel! I love how modern and updated the new mirrors are in the bathrooms! I go to this location mainly as itās the closest to me until the Kings Highway location opens! The gym has 2 floors, upstairs is mainly cardio with some areas to stretch and use mats along the walls. Upstairs has lots of treadmills !!! Downstairs has a nice amount of treadmills as well as ellipticals, exercise bikes and other cardio equipment... there is a lot of variety of body building and toning machines, however mostly one or maybe two of each kind. The hours of the gym are great! Wish they had a parking lot but hey itās Brooklyn what do expect?!? Membership is $10 plus tax a month excluding the annual fee and sign up fee... thereās a black card membership which basically is the same as the $10 membership except you cannot cancel until a year is over.. you pay $20 plus tax a month plus the annual and sign up fee. With the black card membership you get a discount on the drinks in the fridge, access to the massage chairs , tanning, ..etc. plus you can bring in a guest every time you come in even the same guest but you must always be there and they need ID. Also they cannot use the black card membership perks! (Otherwise your guest can basically have a free unlimited gym experience as long as your still a member and your there with them) however , this location is very overcrowded with the exception of late nights .... possibly during school or work hours ... or early morning otherwise weekends and from 5 or 6 pm it gets really busy. Also I have a hard time with using machines as I often see people having phone conversations , engrossed in their music , phone , or other distraction and simply arenāt working out but arenāt getting off the equipment either.. there are some serious gym members but there are also lots of young teens that kinda make you feel like your back in high school... often I see people reserving machines with bags or water bottles or switching back and forth with a friend or simply doing lots of reps with extended brakes while someone else really just wants to do 1 rep of 20 and has been waiting a long time... yet the worst is when thereās a whole line for certain machines like ... if thatās what the public wants shouldnāt there be more of those machines and less of whatās not as popular ?!? In addition, this location serves Bensonhurst , Bay Ridge , Gravesend , Coney Island , Parts of Boro Park and Flatbush ...etc Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful! I say most as I only can have an opinion on the staff Iāve come into contact with and as Iām only there certain hours or days I clearly cannot know all the staff. Overall, if you donāt mind the crowds , slightly teen atmosphere and hard parking then this is a great gym! Only complaint is I think showers should have doors not curtains they fly around not to mention they offer very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf only considering the facility (i.e. cleaness, well-maintained, etc.), I would probably give 3.5 to 4 stars to this place; but if I have to take into the consideration of the management and staffs at this place, I would give it LESS THAN a star if I could. The management staffs, specifically the manager (I believe "Samora" is the name), has the worst, disrespectful, dramatic and unreasonable attitude toward the paying customers, the worst that I've ever experienced in any stores, obviously she doesn't give it sh*t about the customers, the reputation of the facility and don't even mention about trying to keep the customers (which is probably her primary task, resolve issues and keep customers as a manager; and if owner is reading this, I seriously recommend you to considering hiring a new manager, I'm cancelling my membership solely because your manager period). So, my story begins by making a phone to the facility to make an quicky about why there was a $15 late fee charged to my account, and I was told on the phone that I have to come down to the facility and speak to the manager in order to get it removed. As instructed, I went down to the facility and asked to speak to the manager, and tried to explain that the credit card on file was the account used every month to automatically charge the membership, and the card is not expired, and I had also called my bank and verified that there is nothing wrong with my card, so the card shouldn't have been declined, and as matter of fact, the facility was able to charge to the same card (they claimed to have issue or declined the transaction) few days after the due date for the amount of the membership and $15 late fee. So, i was trying to explain that if the card really had issue, then why their subsequent transaction was able to go through successfully along with the additional late fee imposed (obviously the card is fine). But the manager obviously didn't want to listen to any of it, had offered no explanation or help whatsoever, and pretty much made up her mind that it's customer's own fault that late fee was charged because I didn't check every month on my own to see if the membership fee was successfully paid. WTF, I'm on auto pay with my working credit card. Most importantly, it's really not the $15 that I really care about, it's her horrible and disrespectful attitude that making me want to leave the facility. It's unbelievable. Be aware people! When they're trying to sign you up, you will be fine with just one credit card; but when incidents like that happen, they will then blame you for not having two accounts on file, so one could be used as backup when another fails. Worst or no customer service...
