I really wanted to like this place. I rarely schlep out to Flushing and came specifically to try this place out, but it was a huge disappointment. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our appointment as requested. When we entered, the single room where all the services were provided was packed. After taking a look at my scalp, they upsold us to another service after telling me that I had a dandruff issue. That was news to me. But ok, maybe they’re the pros so I agreed to a slightly more expensive service. It started off well enough, although it was a bit loud in the room, but much of the noise was coming from other customers, and I get how that might be harder to manage. It’s sort of par for the course in these no frills places. A short while later, a second person started massaging my arm, which initially startled me, they assured me it was included in the services. Cool, that’s nice. Then it got weird. The person who started with the treatment seemed to be getting pulled to another customer, so the second person who had massaged my arm took over, but transition was chaotic. There was a lot of back and forth between the two, and the first person seemed not to know what time they started working with me, when asked. I knew what time I had gotten to the place; but didn't see exactly what time the services began, so I did not get involved; but when they told me that the services were complete, I was left rather confused. The appointment was booked for an hour, and when I glanced at the clock, I should’ve had at least another 15 minutes left. When I asked to confirm if my appointment was really over…well it wasn’t pretty. There was scolding and arguing among the staff. The owner did ask for them to give me another 5 minute massage which didn't quite add up an hour, and attempted to explain that my appointment should be shorter because there was some time where 2 people were working on me (but this was not for more than 5-10 minutes). At this point, I really didn’t want to make more of a scene than the one I had inadvertently created, so I just nodded and I said that I understood. All this to say that what should've been a relaxing hour, turned out to be a really stressful 45 minutes (at best). I really don't understand the purpose of having 2 people provide services for one customer. It seemed chaotic and confusing for staff, and left me wondering who I should tip, and how much. In the end, I did tip both women collectively more than 20% of the cost of service, not because I thought the service provided was any good; but because I felt bad for asking about why I didn't get the hour of treatment that I had paid for, and starting a flurry of arguments. Not only this; but despite all the time spent on my hair, there was no conditioning used, so my hair felt tangled and dry. I absolutely would not come back, nor would I recommend that anyone give this...
Read moreI typically don’t like leaving bad reviews but the glowing reviews here really mislead me to come here. During my treatment I overheard a worker offering a discount in exchange for a good review and then the 4.9 stars made sense. I had a very similar experience (almost exactly) to someone else who left a one star review.
I came in on a Saturday as a walk in (do not recommend coming on a weekend). I had just enough cash to pay for the service and said I didn’t have enough to tip, the woman who took my cash said they also took Zelle. I usually always tip but this experience was so awful I didn’t actually want to. They made us stay in there until they saw the confirmation of a tip through Zelle and the lady said it’s because the person who provided the service was “crazy.” I told her I didn’t have any service and couldn’t tip so I took her information and was planning on sending something once I got signal but she wanted us to connect to WiFi. I personally feel very uncomfortable logging into my bank on a public WiFi service. We felt very pressured into tipping and we were pressured to tip and we did.
Starting off I got an hour scalp massage, they had me wait about 5 minutes before they got me into the head spa. The actual treatment wasn’t very relaxing, it was loud, they rushed us, left the water running on my neck and just left (I’m ticklish and the worker next to me had to yell to get them to come back and turn off the water). I looked at the clock and it was about 35 minutes when they got my bf to get up from his head massage (we paid for an hour). When I said something they said oh we realized and just started massaging his back until it reached about 50 minutes. My bf and I started at the same time. It was definitely a chop shop where they wanted to make a lot of money and get people in and out.
They don’t use conditioner, they won’t use heat protectant unless you ask, and use extremely high heat hair dryer on you. My scalp felt clean for the most part but it was not relaxing. My bf got the same treatment I did and got more scalp care. I felt physically uncomfortable because your head is lower than the rest of your body. At one point they had the hair tub full of water and I was having to make sure my head was above water so my eyes and nose weren’t submerged. My neck was feeling strained.

Read moreI recently visited Queen and Scalp Treatment for a body & facial massage along with a scalp treatment. The booking process was smooth, and the staff was quick to confirm my appointment over the phone. I did have to reach out for the address and time since I misplaced my booking details, but the person I spoke to was very kind and helpful. When I arrived at my appointment time, I felt a bit uncomfortable as a few staff members were sitting together, talking and laughing. I assume this was due to my 4C hair texture and big afro, which might have seemed unusual to them, though I didn’t find it very professional to be laughed at. They did eventually direct me to wait for a few minutes while they prepared the board, which I appreciated. The body and facial massage I received was excellent. However, during the treatment, I was confused when I received a call asking if I was coming, which interrupted the experience a bit. As for the scalp treatment, I understand that my hair was a bit tangled, and I should’ve come prepared with a wide-tooth comb for detangling. The stylist had some difficulty getting her fingers through my hair, but I can’t fault her for that. Unfortunately, the overall scalp treatment experience was not as great as I expected. While I was having my treatment, I noticed two other guests (whom I believe were there for scalp treatments too) receiving much more attention, including being offered snacks like dumplings and ice cream, and even playing with the puppy that was in the salon. Meanwhile, once my scalp treatment was finished, I was simply told my session was over. I got dressed, paid, and only as I was leaving was I offered water. I tipped my masseuse and was asked again if I wanted water, but by then, the experience didn’t feel as welcoming as the others seemed to have received. I paid the same $140 for my service, but the treatment I received didn’t match the level of hospitality I saw extended to other customers. While I’m grateful for the scalp treatment that left my hair feeling nice, I won't be returning. I believe everyone should be treated equally, and unfortunately, that wasn’t...
