If anyone rents here, I hope you meet Joseph! I had the pleasure of meeting him the day I rented the unit and the day I had to move in my items. On the first day, Joseph greeted me with a smile. It was my first time ever renting a storage. He explained what it entails and took the time to show me other units outside of my reserved spot to show me that I did have other options available if I wanted to. During the tour, I noticed how clean the entire building was. I read other reviews before and expressed to him that the cleanliness was one of the reasons why I chose this facility. He made the whole experience friendly and wonderful. The second interaction I must admit I was not in the best moods. I was moving from New Jersey to Queens, with only myself and my father to do all the physical work. I called the facility to explain I was running late due to heavy traffic (since your storage closes at 5 on Sundays). Now imagine, 6 hours of moving HEAVY furniture with just one other person, stuck in traffic, then to get to the facility a few minutes after 5 REALIZING I forgot my unit keys. I was beyond frustrated. Joseph, with amazing patience, graciously jumped to solution strategy to open my unit. He made my entire stressed out day turn into an easy, calming one. His attitude of "Everything will be ok" helped tremendously! I was able to purchase a new lock which instantly put me at ease. He let us move in my things into the unit, knowing it was after 5. I was beyond grateful for him being there and how helpful he was! You don't get customer service like that often. Read moreSo let me give you my experience with this location, but more specifically with the site Manager Francia who has been an effective, talented, understanding and professional manager over the past 2 years I have been using Safeguard Self Storage at the Ozone Location, NYC.
Due to Covid19 Travel ban in 2019 - I have had to make the moving of one of my apartment to this location from abroad in some of the most difficult sanitary and financially time. Francia was exemplary as a manager AND a human being. I really cannot tell you how it felt to have someone with care and understanding when you are blocked overseas having half of your life moving to a new location. She was able to make online ID verification, E-signature, drafting of contract all online, and so on all online, storing the spare keys, and taking care of my lease while making it as convenient and easy as she could.
Given the recent lift of the travel ban, I got to finally meet her when I emptied out my storage and again she was ON POINT. Keys were there, information about the closure were good, and her help regarding the facility management were so helpful as well as the help she provided me with the trash/junk removal services. I rarely leave reviews, but when a " stranger " is going beyond his job duties to help you out, especially in these times of crisis, you gotta highlight it and give them their well deserved credit !
So again, THANK YOU Francia and your staff, your human nature and professionalism really made a difference into my life and complicated situation.

Horrible service. I will update this review depending on the outcome of my experience. I purchased a "locker unit" online that states there was a promotion and there was only a limited units available from their website. On the website it did not specify anything about walking up a ladder and crawling into the unit. I am medically not able to lift anything up a ladder. I personally went to the office to inform the staff this information after seeing the type of unit it is. The lady at the front informed me that she would let the supervisor know and get back to me. She never told me anything else. Today she calls me back and says she won't be able to refund me my full amount because of admin fees and some other fees. I informed her I never used the unit and I even went there to let them know I would like to cancel. She then gave me an attitude and even though I told her I am not medically able to, she questioned what I informed her and pushed it off. I asked her to reach out to someone and she said she would speak to the district manager. This place is basically fraud because she didn't even know what was on their website or knew anything about what the promotion said.
